Mind Blowing and Insightful Tour - We really enjoyed this tour. We learned so much about the role that Black Portlanders played in shaping the history of the nation and other parts of the World. Portland has connections to Susan Rice, a Tuskegee Airman, the woman who was the driving force behind the Pell Grant, and many more notable historical figures. Dugan, our tour guide was knowledgeable, fun, and had a genuine desire to highlight the African-American history of Portland. This is a worthwhile tour for all.

Great Black History Tour - Another example of Black History untold. I make a point of learning something about Black history wherever I go on vacation. Not only did I learn something about Portland but American History at large. I only wished I was given a summary of all the wonderful people that I learned about. Highly recommend.

Wonderful fun way to increase your knowledge of both Portland & American history! - Wow! We were so impressed by all that Dugan knew about Portland and about Black history. The tour took us from the 1600’s to present time. And he focused on not just “the firsts” but the impact these amazing folks had on American history and the local community. We feel everyone would benefit from this experience. We are still wondering at all we wished we had been taught but so grateful to have had this experience which filled in the gaps in our knowledge.
