Additional Information

As we cruise the waters around Portland Harbor we will make stops at Portland Breakwater Light, Spring Point Light and Ram Island Ledge Light before stopping at Maine’s oldest and most iconic lighthouse, Portland Headlight. This historic beacon, with its striking architecture and stark coastal backdrop, is a sight to behold from the perspective of the Atlantic Ocean as seafarers have done for more than 200 years. After photos and information about this iconic lighthouse, we continue the ride along the rocky shores of Cape Elizabeth to Two Lights State Park, whose twin lighthouses perch atop dramatic cliffs.

Our best chance for wildlife comes during the next leg of the ride as we cruise open waters to Halfway Rock Lighthouse, a true maritime relic. Standing proudly on a remote ledge in the open ocean, it has guided mariners through thick fog and turbulent waters for over a century. Seals are often found hanging on the rocks and feeding in the nutrient-rich waters.

  • We stay at each lighthouse for approximately 10 minutes and the remaining tour time as an amazing boat ride between the lighthouses.

Best part of our vacation! - This was everyone's favorite part of the vacation to Maine. Beautiful scenery, great hosts, and perfect amount of time on the water! Bring sunscreen if you go during the summer months :) We saw porpoises along side of the boat, beautiful light houses, expensive yachts including the owner of Home Depot. Highly recommend this while visiting Portland!!!

Captain and first mate... - Captain and first mate were awesome and knowledgeable. Great trip but not for elderly or mobility impaired. Basically a skiff with saddles for seats. Fun new rig. Great views of lighthouses and wildlife

7 lighthouse tour highlight of trip - This was an awesome experience. The operators were competent, customer-oriented, and friendly. We were very close to time to be there and they reached out to ask if we needed any help. During the tour, they provided information on each lighthouse and moved the boat around so everyone could see and get pictures. Halfway rock lighthouse was the highlight of the tour for us since we had seen the tv special on the purchase and rehab of the lighthouse by a local surgeon. On the water Sydney took pictures of each set of travelers in front of a lighthouse with the travelers’ own camera. After the lighthouse tour, they took us to two different eagle nesting locations and to a sea lion “hangout”. All in all our favorite excursion on our New England trip.

Needs a new boat. - We booked the tour for Saturday. The previous evening, it was cancelled because of a small craft advisory.. We rebooked for the following day. We were at the meeting place when we were told it was cancelled because of a leak in the third of recent patches that they had madero the rubber parts of the boat. They were very nice about it. But it seems to us like they need a newer, more reliable boat (a bigger one for 14 people, which they admitted was pretty tight.) Hence the low score.
