Portland is renowned for its artisanal coffee and delicious doughnuts – discover it all on a 6-8 mile cycling tour. Starts at 10 a.m. daily. Bike, helmet, a doughnut, and a cup of coffee are all included!
Our store at 833 SE Main Street #121 is strategically located in the heart of Portland’s coffee roasting giants (three of the city’s top roasters are within a stone’s throw of our location).
We’ll kick start the tour with a cup of coffee, tea, or hot cocoa at a café that roasts their own beans, and get a taste of some specialty coffee to perk us up for the sugary treats ahead. The tour plan might differ depending on the doughnut shop schedules, but we’ll usually start with a less-known but much-loved local store, then head to another popular shop renowned for their apple fritters!
The doughnut popularity in Portland isn’t only about enjoying the pastries; it’s also about the unique subculture that supports it. Were you aware that the doughnut aficionado Homer Simpson was inspired by a resident of Portland? The big question is, did the Homer doughnut inspire the city’s doughnut craze, or was it the other way around?
