Setting Sail into the Archipelago

The sun was high in the sky as I arrived at Porto Pollo, ready for an afternoon of exploration and adventure. The archipelago of La Maddalena had been calling my name, and I couldn’t resist the allure of its crystalline beaches and hidden coves. As a former professional surfer, the ocean has always been my playground, and today was no different. I was eager to dive into the waters and uncover the secrets of this stunning Italian paradise.

Our vessel for the day was a spacious 8-meter inflatable boat, equipped with a powerful 200CV engine. Though it could accommodate up to 16 people, the crew wisely limited our group to 12, ensuring we had plenty of room to move around and enjoy the ride. As we set off, the wind whipped through my hair, and the salty sea spray kissed my skin. It was the perfect start to what promised to be an unforgettable journey.

Discovering Hidden Gems

Our first stop was the enchanting natural pool known as Manto della Madonna, nestled between the islands of Razzoli, Budelli, and Santa Maria. The sea was a bit rough that day, and as we made our way to Cala Corsara on the island of Spargi, the waves grew more intense. But for me, the thrill of the ride was all part of the experience. The crew, ever attentive, offered us rain jackets to keep us dry, a thoughtful gesture that was much appreciated. As we bounced over the waves, I couldn’t help but feel a sense of exhilaration, the kind that only comes from being at one with the ocean.

Our final snorkeling stop was a true highlight, with the clear waters revealing a vibrant underwater world. I floated effortlessly, taking in the beauty that surrounded me. It was moments like these that reminded me why I fell in love with the ocean in the first place. As we made our way back to Porto Pollo, the sun began to dip below the horizon, casting a golden glow over the water. It was the perfect end to a day filled with adventure and discovery.
