Friends For A Day in Douro Valley - My husband and I took our girls ages 14 and 11 on private trip in a 4x4 Landcruiser out to the Douro Valley led by our tour guide Ana. This is experience was THE best time we had during our trip to Porto & Lisbon. Ana’s attention to detail was outstanding and planned a perfect boat tour on the river, we had the most wonderful picnic lunch and the winery she selected was top notch…it literally felt like we had the whole valley to ourselves! It was truly like having a friend for the day take you around and show you the best sites without the crowds and in a way that ensures everyone has a good time, no matter their age. If you are fortunate enough to be able to do an experience like this we highly recommend it and request Ana!

Amazing wine country tour - Petitio took us from the hotel to the Douro wine country in a 4x4 on narrow winding country roads and trails with the most incredible views of vineyards, olive trees, moorish cemeteries and churches. We had a great picnic and ended the trip at an incredible winery/vineyard with a wine tasting of some great whites, ports and reds. Was a wonderful ending to an incredible trip to Portugal! Would 10/10 recommend this one!

Wonderful day out with the added bonus of off-roading! - Fantastic day out! Ana, our guide, was brilliant - a great driver (especially the off-road bits!), very personable, knowledgeable and professional. The boat trip from Pinhão was lovely - a relaxing way to start the tour. The off-roading was incredible and something that wouldn't be achievable without being on a tour such as this. The vineyard we were taken to was fabulous - a small place where personality and quality are key. We had a fabulous picnic - simply delicious food in the most amazing location. Little touches like a table cloth on the table, a bag of cherries and local food were delicious. All in all a fantastic day out. Thanks Ana! We'll use and recommend Detours again, without doubt.

This will be the highlight of your Portugal Trip - We did a private jeep tour in the Duoro Valley yesterday. Our guide was Miguel, and he was outstanding. He had just the right balance of giving us lots of interesting information without overdoing the "history lessons" and was a lot of fun to be with. It was like doing a trip with a friend with a great sense of humor who knows the area really well. The trip included plenty of stops to take pictures and Miguel was very flexible with the schedule and the itinerary. We had a wonderful picnic lunch in the middle. It was all very professionally organized and we had a sensational day. If you have one day to see the stunning Duoro Valley (and you shouldn't miss this incredible area) the it will definitely be a highlight of your trip. I highly recommend this private tour.
