Douro Valley with Joao - Joao is so wonderful, kind and thoughtful. We were traveling from Porto to Lisbon to see the Pena Palace on the day of of the worst wildfires in Portugal since 2017 - about 45 minutes into our excursion, the police shut down all of the highways. After waiting sometime for the highways to reopen, Joao realized that we may be stuck there for hours more waiting, so he quickly changed our plans and arranged an excursion to the Douro Valley with tapas, wine, and olive oil tasting. It turned out to be an amazing day and we have Joao to thank for all of it. He is AMAZING!!

Douro Valley Dream and Best Guide Ever!! - Oh my goodness! Not sure where to start with this review. First of all, we had the absolute best guide ever!!! Joao was simply amazing. His English was superb, he was on-time, patient, kind, funny and extremely knowledgeable. The drive to Douro valley was long but he kept us entertained with history and trivia/fun fact questions. He knew all the cool spots and best views and introduced us to amazingly kind people and villages. This private tour was absolutely perfect for me and my husband on a quick 1.5 day trip to Porto. We’ve traveled a lot and have never seen anything comparable to the Douro valley. I highly recommend this option and this guide (Joao) if you are looking for something private and customizable.

Douro Valley Tour - A very pleasant day’s tour with our guide Liliana. She kept to time brilliantly and we got back to town exactly as described at 7pm. The tour was well organised and the visits to a winery and olive oil museum with tasting were both enjoyable. The 50 minute cruise up and down the Douro was a nice taster to a river cruise there.

Great tour! - It was a great trip! João is very knowledgeable and made the tour very entertaining and fun. He was also flexible and accommodated our group’s needs. The Douro Valley is beautiful!

Awesome private wine tour, good quality and worth every penny. - Had an amazing experience with our tour guide Ana and driver Miguel. They were incredibly warm and welcoming. Ana gave us a very insightful introduction to the douro region. The food at lunch was delicious, super local and authentic. We thoroughly enjoyed the wine tasting and conversations. 100% recommend.

Visited the Quinta do Seixo, local restaurant for a lunch, boat trip in Pinhao and a small olive oil and wine producer - We had a excellent tour to Douro valley with a guide (Costa) who made the day even better. We visited many places but felt no hurry at all

Our Day in the Douro Valley - Thank you Jão! - ​We recently got back from traveling in Europe for two weeks and our last stop was Porto. While in Porto, we did the "Douro Valley Full-Day Private Tour from Porto" and it was THE BEST activity we did on vacation! We had Jão as our driver and he was nothing short of fantastic! From the time he picked us up at our hotel, until he dropped us off at the end of the day, he was charismatic, extremely friendly and very professional. The drive was over 1.5 hours each way but he made the drive feel quick. He was very knowledgeable about Portugal, Porto and the Douro Valley and felt educated by the time we arrived. I could go on and on about all the things he did for us but to name a few... he knew the best places for pictures, the best restaurants in town, where to walk around, was eager to help change, move or make any reservations, all the wineries knew who he was and loved him, he gave us recommendations for activities and restaurants in Porto after he dropped us off and he was just overall helpful and amazing. The list goes on! We highly recommend you book this Douro Valley wine tasting trip on your next vacation and you won't be disappointed if you specifically request Jão. We were lucky to have him and he is truly awesome! THANK YOU JÃO!

Highlight of our trip! - Great tour! Views are stunning and our tour guide Ricardo was fantastic! Took lots of photos of us and made sure to personalise the trip so it was exactly what we wanted. Highlight of our stay. Initially I was worried about it being too long but it didn’t feel long as was so leisurely and relaxed. Would massively recommend the tour itself and Ricardo as the guide 😊

Loved Everything - Ana M was our guide, and we could not have been happier. My wife and I spent the day with Ana. We had an incredible time at the places she took us, experiencing the things that she showed us. The valley is spectacularly beautiful, and Ana helped us understand so much of it. She knew the best spots and just the right amount of history and background to help us fully take it in. At every step, she went out of her way to ensure that we had the best time. The tour was wonderful, but it was even better walking away with a new friend.
