Wonderful private tour - My husband and I had a wonderful experience visiting the Douro Valley with João as our guide. João shared a ton of interesting information and it was a pleasure to visit the valley with him and to learn from his expertise and guidance throughout the day. The tour itself was well planned with an excellent lunch of classic Portugeuse food that we really enjoyed. The port and wine tastings were also great and we enjoyed everything about this tour and would highly recommend it. We visited in early November and had a lovely day.

Wonderful, kind, gracious thoughtful guide - Ricardo was a gracious, thoughtful and knowledgeable tour guide. He drove very well and was helpful when I got a bit ill. He brought us to a wonderful restaurant and the port tastings, wine tastings and olive oil and honey were great. He allowed us to take our time when needed and it never felt pressured. I would go with him on any trip he leads.

Great day in Douro River Valley with João - My wife and I spent a full day with Joao on Monday. I highly recommend him and the tour. We had a comfortable ride, saw so much of the valley and found some hidden gems along the way. Joao gave a great day as we discussed the sites, history, culture,futbol and of course, wine.

Beautiful trip with good wine! - David was an amazing tour guide! We visited Sandeman as well as another olive oil and winery where we tasted wine and oils. We also did a river cruise and ate lunch at an authentic restaurant. It was a lovely trip

Douro Valley with Joao - Joao is so wonderful, kind and thoughtful. We were traveling from Porto to Lisbon to see the Pena Palace on the day of of the worst wildfires in Portugal since 2017 - about 45 minutes into our excursion, the police shut down all of the highways. After waiting sometime for the highways to reopen, Joao realized that we may be stuck there for hours more waiting, so he quickly changed our plans and arranged an excursion to the Douro Valley with tapas, wine, and olive oil tasting. It turned out to be an amazing day and we have Joao to thank for all of it. He is AMAZING!!

Douro Valley Dream and Best Guide Ever!! - Oh my goodness! Not sure where to start with this review. First of all, we had the absolute best guide ever!!! Joao was simply amazing. His English was superb, he was on-time, patient, kind, funny and extremely knowledgeable. The drive to Douro valley was long but he kept us entertained with history and trivia/fun fact questions. He knew all the cool spots and best views and introduced us to amazingly kind people and villages. This private tour was absolutely perfect for me and my husband on a quick 1.5 day trip to Porto. We’ve traveled a lot and have never seen anything comparable to the Douro valley. I highly recommend this option and this guide (Joao) if you are looking for something private and customizable.

Douro Valley Tour - A very pleasant day’s tour with our guide Liliana. She kept to time brilliantly and we got back to town exactly as described at 7pm. The tour was well organised and the visits to a winery and olive oil museum with tasting were both enjoyable. The 50 minute cruise up and down the Douro was a nice taster to a river cruise there.
