I'd do it again sam - Everything was very well explained but more Grappa would have made me understand it better. đŸ˜† David the driver/ tour guide/accordion player was entertaining and a safe driver. Rita was wonderful and knowledgeable. The singsong on the way home was real fun

Really great experience! - Great experience! Miguel our guide was fantastic from start to finish! Maykel fantastic driver! We visited beautiful places a cellar with port wine tasting and visit of the vineyards and then a cellar where we had lunch. In the latter the quality of food and wine (not only port) was top. Tour of the cellar and explanation of the process by Vanessa gave us moments of quality. Great experience. Highly recommended!!

Duoro Valley Tour - Miguel and Maykel did an amazing job on the tour today. Miguel and Maykel took photos for us and shared important information throughout the tour. We wish we were in Porto longer, but this tour was worth it!

Ok, but needs adjusting - The Douro Valley is beautiful and I’m glad I got to see that part of the country. But I thought the tour was just ok. It was a very long day (10 hours). The bus was rather small and I thought it was super hot. I wasn’t aware that we were stopping at a town on the drive north where we spent an hour. We ended up having a delicious cup of coffee and sitting in a cafe but had I known we were stopping, we wouldn’t have gone out for coffee/breakfast before. The tour guide was ok, he repeated things many times, maybe because we were such a large group and he wanted to make sure everyone heard. The first winery was also our lunch location. I was surprised when they announced that the meat option was veal. It’s most likely a traditional meal but not something I had eaten before and many in the group opted for the vegetarian option, tofu. We did not really care for the lunch. We were served cold croquettes, a carrot soup, a veal beef stew with rice and potatoes, and 4 mini desserts. We were given a lot of wine/port at this stop which was good. Tour info was good but heavily focused on the estate’s family. The boat ride was ok but not necessary. Our tour guide didn’t come with us and the boat operators never even said hello never mind point anything out to us. The second stop was the Croft estate and it was beautiful although raining. Our guide there provided the best info we had on the tour but he was only with us 15 minutes. They served us 3 ports, but one thing I thought was needed was food, like cheese and crackers, especially with all the alcohol served. I found it strange that neither winery promoted their products or asked if we wanted to shop. Ultimately I’m glad we went but the tour could have been at least a few hours shorter and I would have happily paid more for a better lunch and snacks at Croft.

Boring and poorly organised - First of all, we booked the guidance in English, but the guide was talking in both English and French—very much annoying and distracting, we gave up listening very quickly. The luch part was way too late—14:00 after meeting at 7:30, almost 7 hours or hunger don't add up to the pleasure of the trip (not to mention the lunch was very mediocre—stale bread, cheap wine, almost inedible fish, and heated up meat). The valley is fine, but nothing special if you had visited other similar places. The winery desperately lacked snacks to offer with wines. All in all, you could go if you wouldn't have anything better to do, but if you pass, you won't lose anything.
