Berta’s Pasteis de nata workshop is brilliant 🤩 - Berta is a brilliant teacher - she involved all six of us in the preparation and made it fun. She was patient and helpful - we had a great time. We had a freshly baked pastel de nata and a glass of port, plus two pasteis de nata to take home - delicious, needless to say. A fabulous time - thank you Berta🙏💖

Lovely teacher, lovely experience! - Berta and Peter were kind and friendly and we felt very welcomed. The class was a good size and the tarts were delicious! I appreciate the care Berta took and how Peter took photos for us so we could be in the baking “zone”. Definitely beginner friendly as you will do a step in the recipie and take turns with the group.

Lovely teacher, lovely experience! - Berta and Peter were kind and friendly and we felt so welcomed. The class was a good size, and the tarts were delicious. I appreciated the care that Berta took for each step, talking us through why things should be a certain way. I think for beginners in baking, this is for you, but if you’re a bit more independent maybe not.

Lovely family experience - We did the workshop with older kids and we enjoyed the experience very much as a family. Berta is very sweet, the pasteis are very tasty and the location is set at a hotel with a view of a beautiful garden in which we drank Port wine.

A must-do!! - The experience was really wonderful. Berta & Peter were the nicest hosts. Very warm and welcoming. Berta gave us easy instructions and at the end we we're able to take the rest of the pasteis de nata, the receipe and a lot of pictures taken by Peter at home. The pasteis were soo good and we are definitively gonna try them back at home! On top the two hosts gave us a lot of recommendatios what to do in Porto and around. We really came out of the place gushing how lovely it was.

Delightful afternoon spent with Berta 🤗 - We spent a delightful afternoon with Berta learning to bake pastel de Nata. There were 4 of us in our group and we each had a turn learning to make the custard for the pastel. Berta is an excellent teacher and very patiently showed us how to press the pastry into the pastel form. Then we sipped on port wine while waiting for the pastry to bake. And we sampled our pastel warm out of the oven - delicious!!! Berta provided us with lots of baking tips and we are going home with her recipe to try - we even bought our pastel forms at the store in Porta (per Berta’s Recommendation)!

Small local, hands-on cooking class - Berta and Peter were so accommodating and welcoming! Such a treat to hear their stories and get a specialized touch and lesson (family recipe) on how to cook Pastel de Nata! It was a hands-on approach which allowed us to experience everything. They were so kind, we felt right at home! Included in this cooking class was the recipe which you can bring back home, a tasting of port wine (which was great), 3 pastel de nata which you made. Please note that the location of their shop is about a 15 minute walk from the Livraria Lello bookstore.
