Torre dos Clerigos - Clérigos Tower has marked Porto city’s skyline for more than 250 years. In mid-18th century was one of the highest towers in Europe. In the same building, the Church is magnificent and we will visit it free (10minutes).

Antiga Cadeia da Relacao - This building, commissioned in 1765, is a unique example of the judicial/prison architecture of the Old Regime.

Avenida Dos Aliados - From the bottom of Praça da Liberdade, we will admire the Town Hall and the Avenue of Allies. Open in 1915, this avenue estalished the connection between the Historic Centre and the new town.

Mercado do Bolhao - One of the most iconic buildings in Porto, the market Bolhão reopened in 2023, after a demanding restoration and modernization work to welcome traders, customers and visitors.

Praca da Batalha - At the southern end of Santa Catarina Street (where the finest Majestic Cafe is undoubtedly a must-see), we find the Teatro Nacional S. João, the Santo Ildefonso Church and the Cinema Batalha, all at Praça da Batalha.
This leads us back to the bohemian 19th century vibrant square. -
Rua Santa Catarina - At the heart of Porto’s shopping district, it is a pleasant area to browse for shops.
We will admire Majestic Cafe from the exterior. -
Sao Bento Railway Station - The train station’s concourse is decorated with multiple fine “Azulejo” tile paintings.

Porto Cathedral (Se Catedral) - With its stark Romanesque fortified appearence it is the oldest monument in town.

Rua da Pena Ventosa - The street formerly called “Straw Street”. We are now at the heart of the Medieval Historic Center, walking through its narrow lines.

Jardim do Infante Dom Henrique - Here you find a spendid harmonious square, with three major buildings: Mercado Ferreira Borges, Palácio da Bolsa and Igreja de São Francisco.

Palacio da Bolsa - The 19th century Stock Exchange Palace of Porto.

Ponte da Arrabida - Built between 1956 and 1963, becoming the first Douro bridge to be entirely made by the Portuguese engineering, in this case a project by the engineer Edgar Cardoso.

Jardim do Passeio Alegre - After the bustling Cantareira, we will pass the Lighthouse of São Miguel-o-Anjo and we will reach the Jardim do Passeio Alegre, one of the most beautiful gardens in Porto. It has a lovely and bucolic name and it has existed here for just over 150 years.

This aims to be a short but essential Porto sightseeing driven tour. The private local guide will help you to understand the city’s historic context of so many spots and to catch a glimpse of the local atmosphere.
The standard duration of the tour is 4 hours. Depending on the interest and the time you have, tour can be extended to 5 hours and include a 1 hour break for lunch.
We will be pleased to present a taylor-made tour for you, starting from the above basis of 4 hours, so you are free to choose yet a monument to visit, like: Livraria Lello Bookstore, the Cathedral of Porto or the Tower of Clérigos (each attraction will need up to 30 minutes for visit and it is your choice). Please notice that the skip-the-line entrance tickets for all these attractions are excluded from the final price, so kindly contact in advance in order for us to book them. The amount concerning the cost of these tickets should be paied to the guide on the day of the tour.
- Total duration of the tour includes travel time. If the tour is 5 hour duration, then it would include 1 hour break for lunch.
- Tickets to Torre dos Clérigos are not included. To visit, please contact in advance. Not recommended for travelers with heart problems or other medical condition.
