  • Porto - Gold Pier; We start our trip at the picturesque and traditional fisherman’s pier, a typical Porto location. (200 meters from the Arrábida/Porto bridge)
Travel time already included in the total duration.
  • Torre dos Clerigos - Designed by Italian architect Nicolau
Nasoni, the Clérigos Tower, more than 75 meters long, was completed in 1763. Initially its function was to be a bell tower, but over the years it also ended up being used as a landmark for vessels, as well as a strategic point for military combat. The visit to Torre dos Clérigos includes a 225-step journey to the top where you can enjoy panoramic views of the city of Porto and Gaia.
  • Ponte de Dom Luis I - It is a metal bridge with two decks, built between 1881 and 1886, connecting the cities of Porto and Vila Nova de Gaia separated by the Douro River.
  • Cais da Ribeira - A visit to Ribeira could not be missed.
The best and most beautiful postcard of the city, with all its colors, life and history,
Dare to get to know it!
  • Mosteiro da Serra do Pilar - The Serra do Pilar Monastery is an austere
17th century church. It has been classified by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site since
  1. The Church, classified as a National Monument, stands out for its circular plan, covered by an imposing hemispherical vault, surrounded by a balcony and crowned by a lantern. Inside, the gilded and white carved work stands out.
It preserves a beautiful cloister, also classified as a National Monument, with a circular vault with a central rib supported by 36 Ionic columns. This Mannerist monastery is a unique example in Portugal, as the church and cloister are circular in plan, a model originating from civil architecture. Its geographical location was crucial in 1809, during the invasions by Napoleonic troops and in 1832-33 as a military base during the liberal struggles.
Elevated to the category of fortress, it has since been converted into military barracks
  • Ponte D. Maria Pia - The D. Maria Pia Bridge is a railway infrastructure, which carried the Northern Line over the Douro River, between the cities of Porto and Vila Nova de Gaia, in the North of Portugal. It was inaugurated on November 4, 1877 and closed on June 24, 1991, having been replaced by Ponte de São João.
It is considered, along with the Garabit Viaduct, as the greatest masterpieces created by engineer Gustave Eiffel. At the time of its inauguration, it was the bridge with the largest iron arch in the world. [It has been classified as a National Monument since 1982.
  • Miradouro Reserva Natural Estuario do Douro - With 66.35 ha, the Douro Estuary Local Nature Reserve is located on the south bank of the mouth of this river, close to the fishing village of Afurada, encompassing Cabedelo and São Paio bay, where there is a salt marsh.
Among the natural values it protects, the highlight goes to the birds that live here or pass through here and that can be easily observed, as it is located on the migratory corridor known as the “East Atlantic Route”.
  • Porto District - The experience ends at the mouth of the Douro, right next to the Atlantic Ocean

Perfect way to experience Porto from the Douro river - When we decided to book a Douro River Cruise, we were looking for a quiet, romantic boat ride down the Douro river to experience Porto in a different light. We got more than what we were expecting when we booked with Paulo and Nadia. What a wonderful experience we had! We felt as if we were with good friends on the tour. We had a beautiful spot at the front of the boat on two big comfy pillows, got served Sangria (delicious), a lovely charcuterie board full of cheese, meats, jam and bread and at the end enjoy a little bit of port wine. Along the way, Paulo provided tidbits of Porto’s history and we had great conversations along the way. As we did the evening sunset tour, they graciously provided blankets to keep us warm when it got chilly. I can’t recommend this tour enough as the hospitality was amazing and so was the company!

A Great River Cruise with a wonderful wife and husband! - This shared boat trip was awesome! Nadia and Paulo are great! They welcomed myself, my wife, and my son on their boat like we were part of their family. This was a very enjoyable river cruise and Nadia and Paulo provided allot of great information about the sights along the tour since they born, raised, and live in the area They also recommend an awesome local restaurant that we enjoyed. Nadia also makes awesome red sangria that I enjoyed on the tour I very highly recommend them and their river tour! You will not be disappointed Carl P
