Fado, like life itself. - A magnificent place to listen to fado, not only by the artists who make up the group as they are not limited to playing and singing. Ana Margarita introduces you with many explanations in the world of Fado, its origin, its instruments, its world, in short a song to life, sometimes sad and others joyful I recommend this place, it is inside the station and they offer you a glass of wine while you listen to the fado. You can't ask for more.

Very close to the Fado - In a small and cozy theater, just in the beautiful station São Bento in the middle of Porto, there is a Fado performance every day at the beginning of the evening, called Presidencial Fado. We were welcomed by a young, friendly woman who offered us a postage immediately upon entering. Once seated it turned out that she was THE singer of that night. Accompanied by two men, one with a fado guitar (Fado Guitar Coimbra) and the other with a Spanish guitar strung with iron strings. With explanations about the fado, she sang for an hour. Sometimes sad, sometimes cheerful. And the hour was over. The show, the singing, the warm decoration of the room, the ambiance, made it very impressive for us. And the advantage, we felt, was that you didn't have to 'go to a restaurant', as often with performances elsewhere in the city. And therefore very affordable, without further fuss. Highly recommended.

Unforgettable immersive cultural experience - I've flown a long long way from Hong Kong just for three things in Portugal: pastel de nata, fado and port wine. But fado was the most memorable thing that happened during my trip in Porto - Beautiful and excellent performance by Ana Margarida (the fado singer), António Reis (the guitar player and also a fado singer) and Hugo Reis (the portuguese guitar player, who played a Coimbra-style guitar with a teardrop-shaped guitar head). Located in São Bento Station, the place was very convenient and extremely easy to find. A complimentary glass of port wine was also served during the performance but I chose to drink after the show. I didn't understand any portuguese in the lyrics (although I spent some time learning the language), but the different types of feelings expressed through the music were so strong, just like vibrant colours from a painting, left us a sharp memory and moved every one in the room. My favourite song was "Por Um Dia" by Ana and António (I googled the song title by memorizing the lyrics "Minha fria companhia" which stayed in my mind for so long after the show). Without knowing the lyrics, I couldn't understand the sadness in the song but I could feel that it was very romantic and sentimental. The melody was more similar to the modern Cantopop which I usually listen to. The sound quality in the room was also good. You couldn't feel the same if you just listen to a video. I love the performance! Bravo!

Delightful - A true delight experiencing this authentic fado performance. Two guitarists (one playing a 12 string guitarra the other a 6 stringed guitar known as a viola) accompany a charismatic female vocalist. All are excellent musicians who convey the drama and emotion of fado. Brief commentary after some of the songs was interesting and informative. The performance is in a charming room with great acoustics in the historic São Bento train station, famed for its intricate azulejo-tiled walls. A highlight of our Portugal trip.

Excellent fado show! - A beautiful fado performance in a nice, spacious room and excellent acoustics. We were delighted to have found this place in the Sao Bento train station.
