Best Way to see the Isle of Skye - My wife and I were on a cruise that had a 1-day stop in the Isle of Skye. The private tour enabled us to make every second count. We were able to beat the crowds in the most popular places and spend the time we wanted in the places we chose. Our Tour Guide was great--she was friendly, funny, and had insider knowledge that helped make our day truly memorable. What a great day in an amazing place!!!

Wonderful Tour of Skye - The tour was a bit pricey (charged per person rather than by car) BUT worth every penny! Callum was local and could provide commentary and knowledge of our sites that only someone who was from the Isles could provide. Excellent driver, knew where to take us to see the sights and was a pleasure to spend the day with

Fantastic guide and breathtaking experience - Our guide, Carole, pick us up on time and on our way we discussed different ideas we had as to what to do and she gave us some ideas that would utilise our time best. Dunvegan Castle was stunning, not only the castle itself, the beautiful gardens but also the interior, you could really imagine people through the ages living in this amazing place. The gardens were a delight to walk through even though the weather was a bit hit and miss. The Fairy Pools lived up to their name. The waterfalls were unbelievable especially if like us you had never seen a real one and the pools were so clear you could see the bottom, with a little imagination even the teenagers could see the fairies whipping along the water. It took us about 30mins to walk, from the car park, to the first pool. There were a few parts that were slightly steep but nothing unmanageable, no moaning from kids, and we all enjoyed the landscape and wildlife along the way. Carole told us that Portree is the main town on the isle, again the landscape was amazing. We spent some time watching the boats at the harbour and we walked around the quaint town where we also had something to eat. We popped into the Visitor Centre which was interesting as well as educational and of course we got some souvenirs. Everything from going over the Skye bridge (twice), the activities and the stunning landscape was an absolute delight we could not come to agreement what we enjoyed the most. Our guide Carole was wonderful, she was chatty and knowledgeable. We told her what we had looked at prior to the tour and she gave us various ideas of what we could do. Her suggestions were spot on for our group. I cannot fault anything about our experience and would recommend this tour company to anyone. Thank you for a great day Carole

Just an Amazing Day. - What an incredible day! Our guide, Jim, was highly knowledgeable, outgoing, and an excellent storyteller. I learned so much about Scottish history, and got to see the most spectacular scenery. And Highland Cows!

A fantastic guide and ride for Skye! - Skye as a beautiful as we had hoped! One day is not enough to see most of it, so we only concentrated on walking up to the Old Man of Storr and a photo stop at Eilean Donan Castle which was on the way to Skye from Fort Willam, but we also got to take the ferry on the way back and got to see the Glenfinnan Viaduct. Our driver and guide was James, who was well versed in local history and really made the trip quite wonderful.

An amazing tour of the Isle of Skye - Communication with Gill was perfect. We let her know what we were interested in seeing and she arranged the perfect guide for us. Callum was prompt, knew the Isle of Skye in and out and took us to all the most amazing places. His knowledge of the geography and history was extensive. And he had us laughing and fascinated with his stories. This was a real highlight of our trip

Great expetience - Jim, our guide, was fantastic. Our trip was tailored to our interests and included stops that would not have been accessible in a big tour bus. The views were amazing. I traveled with elderly parents and Jim did a great job of pacing and accommodating to their interests, energy, and mobility. Highly recommend this tour.

Wonderful day in Skye! - We had a wonderful day with Carole. We were in Scotland for my father's birthday and she made sure we saw everything we wanted during our single day in Skye, plus brought us to a great local restaurant for lunch!

Not Great - While the day was nice and we did see some beautiful scenery, the van had 3 of our group in backward facing seats which wasn’t enjoyable for them. One of the reasons we booked the tour was to see Fairy Glen, which we didn’t get to see. The tour guide never communicated we weren’t going to see it even though it was part of the tour. Very disappointed. He gave us timelines at each stop and we adhered to the schedule so I don’t what went wrong. We didn’t find out that we weren’t going to see Fairy Glen until I asked and we were on the way back. I contacted the tour and received a response that if I ever come back, they would take us the site we missed. To us, not a great response. We loved Scotland and if we returned we would book with Mike at Historic and Scenic Tours.

Disappointing Experience! - What we were promised to see as an itinerary for the day was never fulfilled. We wanted a full day to hike & explore Isle of Skye. Our guide Dougie was very nice, but never was told what we wanted to do. We did see the Fairy Pools and Urquhart Castle(from a distance). We never got to Portree or that side of Isle of Skye which was promised. A huge disappointment for all of us.I reached out to Gillian about the situation and no response.
