Fantastic tour with an array of amazing sights of Madeira. - This trip is an absolute must. Gil, our tour guide was fantastic, funny, knowledgeable and caring. After a quick stop at a cafe (where you can use the loo!) the tour starts with a trek through some tunnels and along the levadas to the area of the 25 fountains which is beautiful (bring a torch/head torch and some sturdy shoes.) Then on to the plateau with amazing views. A stop for lunch, then back down to the coast via the original 400 year old Madeiran roads. The only way to do this is in a 4x4 and is not to be missed. We were able to stand up in the jeep whilst we were driven down these roads, a fun experience that I will never forget. Passing through some lovely villages you arrive at the skywalk. I can't put into words just how breathtaking this is. There is a great shop here selling lovely mohair jumpers. Back in the jeep we travelled along the coast through some more lovely villages and back to Funchal. Don't hire a car, the roads are really steep, and parking is limited. You will get a much better experience doing this trip. Gil was full of knowledge about the area, the Island and the people of Madeira.

Absolutely fantastic! - Absolutely fantastic. Picked up from the hotel just before 09:00 in a Land Rover. There were 6 of us, three couples. Gil was our driver and guide. He kept us informed about where we were going, about life in Madeira, got us to the 25 waterfalls before the majority of tourists arrived, explaining about the Levadas and much more. We stopped off at a restaurant where you could eat your own lunch or buy lunch. Gil took us down some minor tracks with the Land Rover roof open and absolutely gorgeous views. It far exceeded our expectations and Gil really made the day special

Worth every Euro! - Easy booking with easy delivery of tickets via TA. Driver (Gil) was on time, courteous, funny, entertaining, interesting and a great driver! We had thought about hiring a car and going without a guide - so glad we didn't. Driving is not easy, roads are steep (and I mean, steep!) narrow, and winding and then parking is difficult as carparks are full and you have to park on a busy road (with loads of cars). On the tour, Gil knew the best place to start, we avoided queues, and experienced the real Madeira. So many highlights - 25 Fountains beautiful, old road short cuts in an open top 4x4 was fun, skywalk amazing. Whole trip was well worth it. Bring sturdy shoes and a torch!

Great day out - Michael was a great driver and guide. The whole day was amazing, it is a busy trail but still completely worth it. The sky cliff and food at the jungle restaurant was good too. Also, had a really good group of people :-)

Scot’s away from home - Julia, our guide was very friendly and informative. The walk through the Levadas was stunning, busy at times with other tourists but still excellent trip. Lunch which we paid for separately was great value, would recommend this too.

Fun day hiking a levada. - I had such a fun day of hiking 25 fountains and touring around the west side. Our guide, Robert, was great. He stopped a few times to show us plants and trees of the island. He even gave us a few surprises which was really fun. Definitely bring layers for the hike. Walking thru the tunnel can get real cold.
