This is an ideal option for a brief visit to the island, and an excellent opportunity to gain invaluable insights and advice from your guide to optimize your itinerary for the subsequent days.
Furnas, one of the island’s prime craters, offers a front-row view of the volcanic activity in all its glory. The itinerary covers Furnas Lake, geysers, steam cooking pods, and water fountains.
When in Furnas, opt for one of the local hot springs: Terra Nostra or Poça da D. Beija (1 ticket per person included) and treat yourself to a hot soak, even during chilly weather, which ensures a relaxing mental state and revitalized muscles. Post your relaxing soak, energize yourself with local treats such as the ‘Bolo Lêvedo’ (yeast cake), corn, or even the famous “cozido” cooked on the volcano’s boiling waters (meals are not included and are optional)
