More than Wine! - Jorge picked us up on a rainy day but we were soon our of the rain and having a great time in Ponte do Lima, experiencing the local market, tasting pastries and having coffee. From there we went for a wine tasting and then back for a beautiful lunch that included the local red wine drunk from a bowl. I am so sorry that I missed getting a photo of that. Then on we went to another winery to taste yet another beautiful wine from a small vineyard. Jorge is a wonderful guide who will go to any amount of trouble to give you what you expected from the tour. I would recommend that you request him because he is really amazing!

So much history - Having already experienced an excellent tour of the Douro Valley region earlier in our stay in Porto we wondered whether this tour could match it. We should not have been worried! The company kept us informed regarding the time we would be picked up from our hotel, and Jorge telephoned personally when he was unforeseeably detained. There were two other couples on our tour who were great company. Our first stop in Ponte de Lima included coffee and a selection of local cakes, followed by a chance to look around this beautiful town. Jorge explained local traditions associated with Ponte de Lima, and his family connections made it even more interesting. The two wine tasting stops showed the variety of flavours to be had from Portuguese Vinho Verde. The lunch included a selection of local produce, an enormous main course, and a selection of different desserts. We were quite late arriving at the final vineyard, but the owner was particularly charming, showing us her vines and allowing us to sample local bread and cheese as well as her wine and brandy. It was a very enjoyable, full day (almost 12 hours). Our thanks to Jorge and our Brazilian companions.

Amazing tour, with exceptional attention to details - We knew we wanted to visit the Vinho Verde region while in Porto, and this tour was the perfect way to do just that! We were picked up right outside of our rental property by Jorge, and then had just 1 other guest on our tour so it was very personal. The visit to Ponte de Lima with local pastries and lunch in Mecago with local sausage, cheeses, and wine were awesome additions to a traditional "wine tour". The vineyards are very small and each experience felt genuine, not a rushed, pre-packaged tasting visit. If you enjoy Vinho Verde wines, I would highly recommend going on this tour! Jorge was an excellent guide, providing so much history and knowledge about every place visited. The best wine tour I've ever been on!

Five star tour - My husband and I were in Portugal for our honeymoon, and our trip to the Vinho Verde with Jorge was one of the highlights of our trip. Bago D'UVa was easy to work with -- they kept us very informed about the logistics of our day and were accessible over email. More importantly, our guide, Jorge, was fantastic. He was knowledgeable about the region's history, culture, and geography and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Getting to know him was one of the best parts of the tour. And the reason that we signed up for the trip -- the vineyards -- were fantastic as well. The wine was delicious, and the hosts were eager to show us everything, from the vines themselves to the bottling and aging facilities. I can't recommend this tour enough. It was a day we will remember for a very long time.

Really incredible tour with delicious wine - This was a fabulous tour to go in Summer, and the guide, Antonio was really fantastic. We drank mostly white and refreshing wines. We started the day with pastry tasting and a walk around a beautiful medieval town, then went to one of the best known Vinho Verde wineries to get a tour of their production and drink four delicious white wines. We had lunch at a lovely local restaurant in Melgaco, and walked around the town. The choices were beef or fish, so not great for vegetarians. After lunch we visited a family farm and vineyard that was really beautiful and learned about the history of the region and wine making. Duoro might be better known, but it was great to go North almost to Spain.

Vinho Verde tour! - Bago D'Uva was an easy company to work with and we had a wonderful day-long trip to the Northern part of Portugal for vinho verde tastings. We stopped at a town about 1 hour outside of Porto for some pastries and coffee and a short walk around the area, which was lovely. Then we had a wine tasting, lunch, and another wine tasting. The scenery in this area was so beautiful and the wineries we went to were both different and extremely welcoming. And the wine was great! We also tasted a rose and red at our first winery. Our guide Antonio was wonderful and helped us track down some individual wine holders to help pack our wine securely in our suitcases to return home. Highly recommend Antonio, this company, and tour!

A day well spent! - My mom and I spent a really fun day touring the Vinho Verde region with Beatriz. I've always been wary of tours, especially spending a full day on one during a relatively short trip. But I'm so so glad we booked this! Beatriz did a wonderful job guiding us through the region and we had some great conversations with her along the way. She made the day really fun and informative, and it was clear she also had good relationships with the wineries and restaurants we went to, which made the experience even better. The wineries selected by the company were unique and gave us a nice glimpse into winemaking in Portugal. Would highly recommend, and hope to take another tour with Bago D'Uva again!

Vino Verde Wine Tasting - Beautiful day in the north of Portugal with my adult son. We visited Saohiero Winery in the morning. The grounds were beautiful and we were offered a delicious light breakfast as well as a tea tasting before the wine tour. The wiinery’s guide was incredibly knowledgeable and we received a a thorough tour of the grounds, the cellars and the bottling and packaging areas. The wines are fantastic and we were given several to taste with a complete education. The facility is newly remodeled and expanded from a family home. Everything is modern and state of the art. We enjoyed Guillerme’s company and leaned so much! A very enjoyable experience. The lunch was so-so in the village and we were seated beneath the TV in the back of the restaurant. I expected a bit more given the price point of the tour. The second winery was Santiago. We were given a tour of the old farm and tasted only two wines with little information other than the family history. Our tour guide was kind and pleasant and we had a great day— carried primarily by the outstanding experience at Saoheiro.
