We’ll depart from the city of Guayaquil to Puerto el Morro, where a boat is ready to escort us on a memorable journey through the mangroves. This destination is an acknowledged protected area and a natural sanctuary for numerous Herons and Birds. The experience gets even more exciting with the sighting of bottlenose dolphins who frequently accompany boats venturing through these waterways. The best time to catch a glimpse of them is during the mid-tide and less often during the low tide. These adorable creatures steal the spotlight in this stunning location. Afterward, we’re off to a cocoa farm where we will witness the industrial and artisanal methods of chocolate production in Ecuador. We’ll also learn about different cocoa plant species and enjoy a sumptuous traditional lunch prepared from the farm’s produce.
