Additional Information

On this day we take you to the biggest and worldwide known Slovenian cave system - the Postojna caves. Amazing two million years old and 21 km long system of underground caves is one of the most easily accessible networks of underground caves in the world. First, you will experience the ride by electric train, after that, a guided walk will follow through a series of cave halls with drop stones, pillars, and translucent curtains that create unforgettable impressions. The underworld system is home to the mysterious, unique, and rare amphibian Proteus Anguinus, or “baby dragon” as it is popularly called here. Back in the daylight, the trip will continue towards the astonishing castle of the robber knight Erasmus. For centuries dramatically hanging in over a 100-meter-high vertical cliff, it’s waiting for you to enter and discover its secrets, legends, and myths. Driving through the green scenery, we return to Ljubljana.

Great day out - This was a great excursion. We were at the castle early on when it was quiet, and this made it easier to follow the audio guide. The castle was interesting and took about 1 hour to complete. The caves were extremely busy, but not surprising given that is was peak season. Unlike the Skocjan caves, you are able to take photos here. The train into the caves was different and well organised. The caves were huge and fascinating. Our guide ( through to do in slovenia) was knowledgeable and had a good sense of humour.

Favorite Family Excursion - This experience was one of our family's favorite excursions of our trip. This is definitely worth it! We were the first to the castle and explored it before the crowds set in. Then we enjoyed the refreshing cool cave in 90+ heat. Our guide was great too. He gave us knowledge about Slovenia to and from the excursions.

Well organized - The trip was well organized with enough time to spend on both locations. Car drive went smoothly with air conditioned van and host (Damir) telling key information about Slovenia and the Postojna Cave and Predjama Castle.

Very great trip, recommended. - The whole trip was great. We were picked up on time at the meeting point, got a lot of info from Martin while driving. In the castle you could walk independently with audio guide. That's good work. The highlight was the cave. Top, we could visit the cave without queuing. Just breathtaking. A top experience.

Nice trip! - We were in Postojnska jama and Predjamski grad in Saturday. Great: both places are really great and beautiful. Lot of stuff to see and enjoy! Highly recomend it! Not great: I would love some instruction on voice guide in jama (not just press 1 and listen). Shuttle bus to the Predjamski grad was taking people standing between rows but on return just seated people could drive on. After 1 hour came city bus and let more people than it should and it was almost unbearable. I would suggest to PR damage control which will reply on my post to put more busess like every half an hour because I was hurrying through the grad and didn't even stayed in every room as I should and was barley manage to catch bus which was already full and had to wait 1 hour. If you go to Predjamski grad my biggest suggestion for tourists, take your own car, forget about free bus, it's just not worth your health and nerves. Also you'll be able to easily make tour through grad as you should and not running like crazy.
