On this occasion, we introduce you to the most enormous and globally recognized cave system in Slovenia - the Postojna caves. This enthralling system, being two million years old and spanning 21 km, is one of the world’s most conveniently explored underground cave networks. You’ll initially enjoy a journey via electric train, followed by a supervised stroll through numerous cave halls, rich in stalagmites, pillars, and transparent drapes, which leave an indelible mark on your memory. This subterranean system is home to the enigmatic, exceptional, and rare amphibian, Proteus Anguinus, or the ‘baby dragon’, as it’s typically named here.
- There is a constant temperature of 10°C (50°F) in the caves, dress properly, and wear comfortable shoes (flipflops are not recommended).
- The minimum number of participants must apply. There is a possibility of cancellation after confirmation if there are not enough passengers to meet requirements. In the event of this occurring, you will be offered an alternative date/tour or full refund.
- In case you fail to provide us with a desired meeting point up until 24h before departure, your meeting point will be the City hotel (Dalmatinova 15, 1000 Ljubljana)
- Child rate applies only when sharing with 2 paying adults.

Great experience - Absolutely amazing. The world's oldest cave castle with spectacular views and the Postonja caves. Wow!!!!. You take a train into the cave and the views passing by was incredible. You then gey off and walk around 1.5km, it's a ramp walkway, no steps. You stop in 3 different places where you get an explanation of what you are looking at. You then get back on the train and head out. A wonderful day trip and a must see.

Don’t Miss These Sites! - The caves were absolutely amazing! The sheer vastness of the chambers was overwhelming and the formations beautiful. We have been to other caves in the US, Hungary, Poland, Portugal and Austria but these caves dwarf them! The train doesn’t give enough time to admire the formations and the guided tour gets through pretty quickly without much time to take pictures. Regardless, an experience well worth doing.
The castle was unique in the way it was constructed and the stories behind it interesting. It is very cold and wet and hard to imagine anyone actually living there!
The fact that the tour included the entry costs was a plus. Dado, our guide, was very personable and gave us a lot of insight into what we would see as well as Slovenia in general.

Our best tour this trip - This was our best tour this trip. Our guide was prompt, very friendly, and extremely knowledgeable. Both the castle and the caves were fascinating. I would definitely recommend this tour.

Great experience. Having the transfer from pick up to each location was so handy and takes the hassle out of the trip. - A brilliant experience seeing the highlights of Slovenia. Like nothing we've ever seen before. It was ideal having the transfer from pick up to each location and back to Ljubljana.

Stellar tour and tour guide!! - What a fantastic tour and tour guide! He was so enthusiastic and full of fun facts and stories about the destination and Slovenia in general! The caves were astounding and our tour guide got us there in perfect time to have a coffee beforehand if we wanted! The castle was the highlight for me, such interesting history and i felt so immersed in the medieval era plus the scenery was just stunning. Nothing but good things to say about this experience :)

Caves & Castle are Slovenian Highlights - The cave and castle tour was a lot of fun and a nice way to see two spectacular Slovenian sights. We did not have a car and considered taking public transportation, but they are actually a fairly long drive from Ljubljana and during the off-season, there is no shuttle between them, so we would not have been able to manage it. Our driver / guide was quite entertaining and told us a lot about Slovenian life and geography as we drove through the Karst area. Both sights are definitely worthwhile to see. Predjama Castle now has an English audio tour as you explore areas of castle, which was fun to do. Make sure you do the whole tour as there are cool corners to discover. Watch your step though. The caves are truly massive and awesome. An amazing tour to experience.

Postojna Caves and Predjama castle - trip from Ljubljana - Our driver Luka made our trip! He provided background on Slovenia, Ljubljana and the Postojna Caves and Predjama castle whilst on the drive from Ljubljana. The caves and castle are stunning and no picture will replace the real life experience. Trip experience is recommended (10/10)!

Great day spent in slovenia visiting cave n castle - Great experience. Our guide Tijasha(sorry for spelling mistake) was great. Enjoyed the day. Enough time given for the cave , for Castle 15-20 more minutes should be given(we were given around 45 mins). Two people slipped in the castle probably while rushing . Well instructed tour. Pick up n drop were smooth. Guide was a very skilled driver also. It’s a must tour if you are not driving and still want to visit unmissable ones in Slovenia. Highly recommend this company.
