Absolute dream trip to the sunset - We booked the sunset tour through GetYourGuide. The process was super easy, except we couldn't directly select our hotel as the pick-up point. However, after the Booking Referral we were contacted directly and were able to confirm our hotel as a pick-up point. The tour was super fun and our guide Thomas, a German expatriate but now thoroughbred Cretan, was able to tell us a lot. Through his funny and open-minded nature, time flew by. After a tasting of various Cretan specialties in a small mountain village we could enjoy the sunset with fruit and a prosecco. At the end of the tour we visited a great tavern and were allowed to enjoy delicious food. After we all danced Sirtakis together e unfortunately went back home again... We can only recommend the tour to anyone. 10/10 points

1. Class - It all fit great, our driver (Thomas) brought a great atmosphere and told us a lot about Crete, its culture, etc. The sunset was of course also fantastic and the dinner was also very delicious. All together: this tour definitely pays off!

Off-road Mountain Sunset Tour - Fabulous trip up into the mountains with Costas. Tasting at a small village store and then a visit to the goats was entertaining but the highlight was the sunset! Followed by a great feast and dancing. Our guide Costas was driver, guide, photographer and comedian! A great experience in Crete.

Incredible tour, Thanks Lefty!! - Soo pleased we did this one, Safari Club Crete were amazing and a very special shout out to Lefty!! For his amazing knowledge and kindness for the whole trip. Sunset was fantastic, the Taverna was amazing, somewhere we could have only dreamed of finding on our own! The team are hugely (and rightly) proud of their country and it’s soo clear when they show you. They were clear on what’s included and what’s not, my only advise is to take some cash for the Olive Oil, such a beautiful village it was great to buy a momento.

Unforgettable experience - There were 12 of us; our composite family. Unfortunately, something had gone wrong with the booking so that only 1x6 passenger car was reserved. Our hero Tomas Verstappen (who even saved our lives along the way with a very good maneuver to avoid a ghost driving car) came on his night off to take the remaining 6 family members in the safari car. It was a top tour; with many opportunities to taste Greek cuisine, take beautiful pictures at the sunset and especially to be together. Tomas saved our day; thanks again!!!!

Great experience of Mountain climbs in a 4x4 and beautiful sunset 🌅 with amazing scenery. - My wife and I went on the sunset route with a very experienced nomad/ tour guide. I’m gutted that I lost his card so I hope people recognise him from my pictures. We was picked up from our hotel in a Land Rover and there was 7 of us in it. Our driver was very knowledgeable and very friendly telling us about where we was going and history of Crete itself. We was taken approximately 1200 meters up the mountains and the views were spectacular. We were able to see the new airport that’s replacing Heraklion airport and wild goats 🐐 who we stopped and fed them. At the peak we stopped and was able to see the the beautiful sunset whilst being fed with fresh fruit and an alcoholic beverage. The trip ended up with us driving to a traditional Greek 🇬🇷 restaurant and was served up a three course meal with both alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks and a few shots of Raki. I would recommend this to anyone as it was one of the best experiences I’ve had for a long while.

Drive through the mountains with personal accompaniment, sunset and Sirtaki dance - We were picked up with our guide Thomas in the air-conditioned Vito around 5 pm at the hotel and were back there at 11 pm. Our group consisted of 8 participants plus guide - so very personal and always likeable. Thomas is German and has lived in Crete as a Greek for many years. He is a storyteller, herbalist, singer and good driver and knows a lot about Crete. Our tour (mountain village with small tasting, mountain tour in the car, sunset at 1,000 meters altitude, food in a quaint local tavern with dancing :-) ) was very entertaining and always amusingly entertaining. We can only recommend this tour and Thomas if you want to get out of the hotel and experience a touch of local culture.
