The Charles Bridge is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Walking across the bridge, you’ll understand why it’s considered Prague’s premier architectural attraction, as it’s a veritable open-air gallery. The bridge is adorned with 30 statues, each with its own story to tell. Make a wish at the statue of John of Nepomuk, and it’s sure to come true! You’ll visit Kampa Island, see Prague’s narrowest alley, and David Cerny’s fountain might even perplex you…

Prepare to hear tales of the bridge’s construction and destruction, legends about the bridge towers, sculptures of saints, the righteous, and Czech heroes. You’ll discover Kampa Island and the lives of its inhabitants - people, spirits, museum exhibits, monuments, and living swans.

At the Knights of the Cross Square, you’ll visit two churches: the Church of Saint Salvator and the Church of Saint Francis of Assisi, which houses the residence of a real modern-day order of crusaders. Interestingly, this is the only male order in the world founded by a woman.

You’ll learn about Queen Judith and why the Czechs didn’t like her (spoiler: they were wrong!)

As you pass under the Old Town Bridge Tower, look up. You’ll see images of bathhouse attendants and learn why King Wenceslas IV revered them, or rather, one in particular…

Be sure to find the Bearded Man relief, which has become a predictor of floods in Prague. We even composed a rhyme: If water reaches the beard - beware, trouble is near!

Of course, you’ll see many symbols and statues of the Charles Bridge, such as the “Crucifixion” (also known as “Golgotha”), sculptures of Cyril and Methodius, Saint Christopher, Saint Ludmila with young Wenceslas, secret signs of stonemasons, and learn their stories and legends.

To cross from the Old Town to the other side of the Vltava River into the historic Lesser Town, you must pass the Charles Bridge and the formidable guardians of old Prague - the Lesser Town Bridge Towers.

To avoid getting stuck in Prague’s narrowest alley, watch for the real traffic light installed there. Be sure to descend below: there’s a wonderful cafe with a splendid view of the Charles Bridge.

Well then! The last attraction of our program - feeding swans on the Vltava embankment. Just watch your fingers, a swan’s beak is very powerful!
