Karlovy Vary has established a reputation as a renowned tourist hotspot, notably for its therapeutic springs which attract international stars. This city’s claim to international fame also includes the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival, among the world’s longest-running and Europe’s leading film occasions. Additionally, it is the birthplace of the much-admired Czech liqueur, Becherovka, and the celebrated glassworks, Moser Glass, whose factory established in 1857 we’ll be exploring during this tour. The Moser family, who were Jewish, left for Argentina before the rise of the Nazis in former Czechoslovakia. The company earned the epithet, King of Glass or Glass of Kings, due to its illustrious customers, which included Edward VII, the Austrian Imperial Court, Pope Pius XI, Turkish sultan Abdul Hamid II., King Luís I of Portugal and his Queen, Maria Pia of Savoy.
