Additional Information

Embark on a journey back to the past with a visit to Kutna Hora, a charming medieval town beautifully kept to perfection. Explore the gothic structures such as the St. Barbara’s Cathedral and the Ossuary, often referred to as the Bone Chapel, which historically served as a mint and royal residence. It is a recognized World Heritage site.

Following a one-hour drive to the east of Prague, you will reach the town of Kutna Hora, boasting immense architectural wealth stemming from the Middle Ages and built on a vast field of silver ore. Over the course of history, its role in the production of money symbolized the power and affluence of Czech monarchs and the kingdom as a whole. Your walk through the town’s historic centre will render it clear why it received recognition as a UNESCO World and Natural Heritage site. Inside, the Cathedral of St. Barbara, the miner’s patron saint, stands out as one of the most impressive examples of late Gothic architecture in Bohemia. The trip includes visits to the cathedral, the Bone Chapel, and the former Mint.

Great if all the members of the group met up as planned - The tour itself was a great experience. Our tour guide was wonderful but he had some tourists that would not meet up at scheduled times. That put our group behind but that was not his fault. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and friendly, we loved him.

A Memorable Tour of Kutna Hora - We booked this tour last minute after our initial one was a no-show. We lucked out that we still got accommodated. Monika was so responsive in communicating our meeting point so she can walk us to the tour bus. It was a small group tour, which we really loved. It was a comfortable ride and the tour was great and informative. Kutna Hora is a must! St. Barbara's Cathedral and Sedlec Ossuary were memorable and amazing places to visit. I'm happy we were able to come and see this UNESCO World Heritage site.

Funny, knowledgeable tour guide - Great tour guide through Martin Tours. Monika was very responsive and called to confirm I had received information by email. Appear 30 mins early in case you need to walk to the coach.

The history and architecture will not disappoint - Great tour guide who explained history and cultural significance of the highlights of the ossuary and major points of interest in town. She was very knowledgeable and had many specific stories to add, making for a very interesting afternoon. Was surprised how much she packed into the time. Meandering through the narrow cobblestone streets transports you back in time as you pass from site to site.
