Week in Prague - It's fun to do. It is actually a cable car to a perched city park. It's best to take the cable car back down. Walking is a long way

Best walk in Prague! - Best-for-value walk in Prague: 1. Start at the Monument for the Victims of Communism ("x" on the map). 2. Walk to the funicular, and ride it to the top. 3. Turn left, and walk through the rose garden. On the left you overlook Prague; on the right you will eventually see some buildings, probably 200 M. 4. Turn left into the park, go about 10 M, and then turn right. Follow the path downhill, and loop around to your left, maybe another 200 M. There is an obelisk with 4 sundials on the top (9), and just beyond a pond with a seal (8). 5. Here, go right down some stairs, looping first to your left, then to the right, and with a few more turns you'll come to a 2nd pond, with a statue of Hercules (6). 6. Then with the valley on your left, walk down a path that takes a long turn to the left, and there is a building on your right, a Museum of Czech culture. You can visit, or save that for another day. 7. To exit the park, continue down the valley, perhaps another 300 M, and there is a gate to the street.

To gain a grandiose view of PRAGUE and visit the PETRIN tower - Small funicular to access PETRIN hill. Once you arrive at the top you can access their "Eiffel Tower" of.........60 meters high which you can visit as well as the old ramparts. Easy to access and inexpensive (the same transport voucher can be used on buses, trams and metro without having to compost again) splendid view of Prague as well as the horizon if it is clear to see........the mountains.

I hope you don't need any help whilst using this service. - I'm guessing you can book this ride on the Internet, but we were exploring Prague and just decided it give it a go. The ticket machines are inside and the queue today in Summer snaked outside for quite a way. So we couldn't get our tickets until we were very near the front. There were 2 different types of machines, and one type just wouldn't work for us. There was no one to ask for help on our side of the barrier. So we asked the man in charge of letting us through when he decided to come out of his office. He point blank refused to help us. Eventually we found the other machines, which just about worked eventually. It was so stressful and really upset me. Then getting on the funicular was a free for all. Having been on many in Switzerland, the Swiss would have laughed their heads off at this service, or lack of it! My advice is, use the funicular but be for warned, and by tickets in advance.
