Highlights
  • Křižíkova 146/70 - Greetings, culinary enthusiasts! We’re Aida & Bret of Good Mood Food, where genuine collaborative cooking is our essence, and we’re fluent in the dialect of dishes. We hold the conviction that cuisine is an excellent medium for dialogue and a bridge to understanding folks and their heritage, as it unites us.

Our approach to hosting our culinary sessions is deeply genuine and amiable. We conduct our workshops in a lively manner, always cooking in unison, exchanging anecdotes, and discussing customs and cultural practices. We see food as more than just a biological necessity; it’s a cultural and social imperative. Our cooking takes place in the specially crafted Good Food Atelier, nestled within a locale that boasts a 400-year history. The kitchen is outfitted simply, mirroring the equipment found in our own homes, ensuring you’ll have no trouble replicating the recipes without the need for sophisticated gadgets or tools.

We’ll prepare and cook three staple Czech dishes together: a soup, a main course, and a dessert. Additionally, you’ll have the opportunity to savor our homemade pickled veggies and jams. Beverages such as water, tea, coffee, and wine are provided. Our journey begins with a communal shopping trip to local vendors, including a visit to a butcher, followed by a leisurely stroll through the Karlin district. Each session is personally conducted by either myself, Aida, or Bret, and we both eagerly anticipate your company.

Amazing Cooking and Dining Experience - The cooking class we took with our host Bret was amazing. He showed us a lot of instructive techniques in a beautiful atmosphere. All recipes were from his grandmother, traditional and perfect for cooking at home. Furthermore the mood was very calm, friendly and comfortable.

Don’t Miss This Class - I could start with the easy but delicious recipes, but the best part was Bret and his stories! The time flew by and we ate and laughed and had some wine. I would take this class again and again!

Highlight of our time in Prague - My family and I (parents, brother, husband) wanted to take a cooking class when we visited Prague. We did some research and really liked the reviews and menu of this specific class. I truthfully could not be happier with the results and my family agrees it was the highlight of our trip. The cooking class was held in a cute underground cave (what it felt like at least) and our cooking instructor was Bret. Although he claims he’s not the best at speaking English, I think he communicated wonderfully and did a great job understanding our questions and commentary. His accent was darling and authentic, and he was a joy to get to know on a personal level. He has lots of great stories which kept us occupied during the few slower portions of the class. We had a group of 5 and he kept us all busy, in a great way, throughout the class. He gave equal opportunity for hands on tasks, and during our waiting “breaks” (when food was cooking) he made a delicious snack platter to enjoy. The recipes were all relatively simple and easy which makes me think I can replicate them at home. Everything was very delicious! And we learned some fun techniques and more about the Czech cuisine. Our only regret was not taking a photo with him! My family highly recommends this class, we’re sure anyone would enjoy it!

Great experience learning about Czech food and culture - What a great experience! Bret was wonderful in working around my inability to find the meeting spot on time. Naturally began by asking about food allergies and foods won't eat. Steps in making each delicious dish were clearly explained with plenty of hands on opportunities. He even convinced me I can flip over a pancake in a skillet and have the video to prove it. Highly recommend for any foodie. Plus you get the recipes to try at home.

Great Fun - Wonderful! We were looking for something different to do in Prague and this seemed to fit the bill. What fun. Bret, the host, was well organized and interacted with humor and care. Don't worry about your previous cooking experience, Bret will teach you how to flip a potato pancake in the skillet like a pro! Come hungry. So happy we did this!

Special experience in Prague! - Having a cooking lesson in “Good Mood Food” is an unforgettable experience for me! A teacher, Bret, is friendly, kind and attentive. I love his character. Everything is well-organized and he is of excellent workmanship. I really enjoyed every dish from appetizers to desserts. He said, “Just stay relaxed as if here was your home.” As he said, I totally felt relaxed in the place. He taught me not only how to cook but also history and cultural background of dishes. It was a great lecture! Thankfully, he sent me recipes by e-mail as I got home. I’ll try to cook in my kitchen! I highly recommend “Good Mood Food” if you want to have special experience in Prague.
