The floating village of Kampong Phluk is 31 kilometers east of Siem Reap and set among lush, often-flooded mangroves. This fishing village of distinctive stilt houses boasts an ever-changing landscape due to Cambodia’s dramatic wet and dry seasons.
During the rainy season from June to January, the water level rises; locals travel to work and school by boat. Visits in dry season involve some walking. On this small-group tour, get an up-close view of the lifestyle and culture of this unique Southeast Asian lake community.

A definite must - Tom was our guide and he might just be the best tour guide I have ever had honestly. When he was giving us the tour and explaining the life of people, he was almost living it. Unfortunately it was dry season so we didn’t see the houses floating. However, I believe this was almost as nice. Highlight of my trip so far.

Finding a hidden treasure - This tour was way better than I expected. It really wowed me. I didn’t know it’s a dry season here so that we can’t ride a boat through mangrove forest but our guide Tom made us get to know about the floating village first hand. We learned a lot about this community with some sad aspects as well. This tour made me to think about life and what we can do for the less privileged. Taking a big boat to a floating restaurant in the huge Tonele Sap river was an extremely awesome experience. Everything penny was worth it thanks to Tom who was so passionate and knowledgeable.

An amazing, must do tour that is truly special - We had an amazing time today on our tour through the Kampong Phluk village. Our tour guide, Tom, was an amazing guide who showed us an authentic life in Cambodia and it was very special to see how local people lived. Truly the highlight of our Cambodia trip, highly recommend to anyone in Siem Real

Amazing tour - I really enjoyed the tour. Our guide, Tom, shared a lot of important information about the Kapomg. Tom has excellent English and is very kind. I highly recommend this tour, which finishes with an amazing sunset view.

Highlight of our 3 week tour around Cambodia - This trip was a highlight of our 3 week tour around Cambodia. Tom the tour guide was so engaging and passionate about these villages. He was a total pleasure to spend the day with and educated us well on the local way of life. The tour was educational, interesting and so enjoyable. We were picked up from the hotel, driven to the village by a very careful driver I may add. We walked around the village, met the locals and went into a locals house. The tour ended with a pleasurable boat trip to a crocodile farm and floating restaurant. We chose to have dinner as the setting was beautiful watching the sun set. Tom is an asset to this company and an all round caring, lovely guy.
