Breathtakingly beautiful - First the communication concerning transport and clothing was very clear! The bus journey is long but this was solved well by taking timely breaks. During the bus journey itself we received interesting and clear information about the history of Meteora. Big compliments to Yvonne for this! The monasteries are breathtaking with the beautiful view so this is really worth it!!

Worthwhile day trip, but exhausting bus ride despite several stops - Monasteries from the 13th and 14th centuries built on high impregnable rocks (close to God)... Brings you closer to the eventful history of this region under the rule of various conquerors... Excellent multilingual tour guide (originally Dutch, but also English and German)

Excellent and well organised trip - Excellent, well organised tour with perfect time keeping. Excellent tour guide and driver. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable, friendly and a pleasure to spend the day with. The tour itself provides the opportunity to see amazing views and scenery and it’s hard to believe what you are seeing. In our opinion it is well worth taking this trip, you also get plenty of breaks for drinks etc but be mindful that it is a full day which is tiring.

'Magical' is a justified title. - Absolutely breath-taking. The scenery is hard to believe. It looks incredible in pictures, but this does nothing to prepare you for the sheer scale and size of the rock formations. Then, trying to work out how the Monasteries and Nunneries were built on them, several hundreds of years ago, leaves your mind agog. It is sometimes a bit of a trek to actually go inside some of them, but it is definitely worth it. The exhibitions answer some of your questions about the landscape and the building. It can get a little busy with tour buses, so I'd suggest staying nearby and planning early/late visits. The opening times and day for each monastery vary, so plan carefully if you intend to see them all.

Great Tour with some recommendations. - Lovely day with our guide Yvonne and driver Jorge. Yvonne was very professional and informative on the subject of Meteora and Greece in general, while Jorge’s smooth driving skills on the winding roads was appreciated. The only problem was the three of our four rest stops were very very crowded and we spend a lot of time in line ups. Suggest that they see if that could be improved, also we were held up 15-20 minutes waiting for two late comers.

Amazing trip but don’t bother with the restaurant food on the way back - Beautiful and stunning scenery and the monasteries are unbelievable. Long journey 2.5 hours roughly from Parga but worth it. Host was amazing from the tour company, so friendly and informative. Only tip and I wish I had followed it is don’t bother with the restaurant food on the way back. You get herded into a huge restaurant with coaches of people and it’s fast, so you don’t have much time to make up your mind, and to be honest the food is over expensive, sweaty stodgy canteen food. Save your money for the many lovely restaurants in Parga where some care goes into what they serve. I paid 26 euros for the driest grisly souvlaki and a tiny bit of salad. The coffee stop on the morning is lovely you can pick up beautiful filo and spinach pie/cakes and sandwiches there if you are hungry. A great day out though other than this. Enjoy!

Magical Meteora Monasteries - Today was a beautiful tour from Parga to the Meteora Monasteries. Our NL tour guide Yvonne was also easy to understand in English and reported on interesting facts during the trip with the beautiful nature of the interior, but of course also at the monasteries. And the driver also took us exactly and safely where we needed to be. Coffee, toilet stop and lunch stop in the afternoon. Well arranged. But of course today it was about the magical monasteries and a bit of history. IT WAS GREAT!

Bucket list item✔️ - The monasteries were amazing. Pity we only had time for 2 and not the Meteora. Would really have loved to go into that. Yvonne our tour guide was just lovely and kept us all entertained with history and little known facts. She’s a gem. Didn’t think we needed the final coffee stop but it was probably more for the driver ….Nico who was wonderful on those winding roads

If you like sitting on the bus! - If you like sitting on the bus then you should do this. The travel time is longer than indicated. First stop, coffee or pick up then you have to be first off the bus otherwise no time, lines for the toilet. Bus after bus stops here... no doing. Meteora should be beautiful (and is) but is overrun by tourists. Commercially definitely take 1 euro to go to the toilet otherwise you have to hold it. Last stop, lunch, again you have no other options it is the eating barn or not. On the way back you ‘luckily’ stop where you started the morning. But after 12 hours you're glad you can leave the bus. Meteora, but not in high season.
