Pingshanhu Grand Canyon ranks among the top 5 most magnificent canyons globally. Our journey through the park will last approximately 2.5 hours. - Zhangye - At 8:30 this morning, your knowledgeable tour guide will greet you in the lobby of your hotel in Zhangye. You’ll be transported by car or bus to the Pingshanhu Grand Canyon for a hike through the canyon and the Gobi desert. This region in western China is quite unique, with some comparing it to the surface of Mars. The scenic area boasts a variety of natural and cultural attractions, including ‘nine dragons at sea,’ ‘miracle canyon,’ ‘lovers Peak,’ ‘one-line-sky,’ ‘lucky elms,’ ‘inquisitive toad,’ and a range of birds, animals, and a tower, as well as a stone forest. The rugged terrain, shaped over millions of years, and the maze-like gorges highlight the distinctive style and grandeur exclusive to western China.

Later in the day, you’ll head to the Zhangye Danxia Geopark, situated to the north of the Qilian mountains in SuNa County. The park encompasses the colorful hills of Linze country, ice hills, Danxia, GanZhou District, and PingShan lake. Located 40 km east of Zhang Ye city and 20 km north of Linze county town, the Danxia scenic area is a prime example of the typical arid regions of northern China.
