iSimangaliso Wetland Park - iSimangaliso Wetland Park is a huge protected area along the coast of South Africa’s KwaZulu-Natal Province. The park’s centrepiece is the vast Lake St. Lucia, home to large numbers of hippos, crocodiles, pelicans and flamingos. At Isimangaliso Wetland Park, we do a game drive where we see all the different types of animals. These include some of the big 5 also such as elephant, buffalo, giraffe, rhino, zebra, kudu and many more.
In the afternoon, have a never to be forgotten experience as you go on a croc and hippo boat cruise in the St Lucia Estuary.
On day 2, after breakfast, travel further north to Hluhluwe Imfolozi for a Game Drive in a 4 x 4 Game Drive vehicle.
Hluhluwe - iMfolozi Park Wilderness Area - Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Park, formerly Hluhluwe-Umfolozi Game Reserve, is the oldest proclaimed nature reserve in Africa. It consists of 960 km (96,000 ha) of hilly topography 280 kilometres (170 miles) north of Durban in central KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa and is known for its rich wildlife and conservation efforts. Operated by Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife, the park is the only state-run park in KwaZulu-Natal where each of the big five game animals can be found. Here you go on a 4 x 4 Game Drive to see all types of animals including the big 5. The Hluhluwe Game Reserve has some of the most beautiful natural landscapes one could ever imagine.
After the game drive, lunch can be taken at the Hilltop. Thereafter we embark on a drive back to Durban in late afternoon arriving at 6:30pm.
