A private driver will collect guests from their hotel or railway station and transport them to the Shaolin Temple, which is approximately a 1.5-hour drive. Located in Dengfeng County, Henan Province, the temple was originally constructed in 495 during the Northern Wei Dynasty (368-534) and is renowned as ‘the Number One Temple under Heaven.’ Upon arrival, the driver will assist with purchasing entrance tickets. Guests can then explore the temple independently.
After completing the visit, guests should return to the drop-off point to meet the driver. There is an option to stop for lunch if desired.
In the afternoon, the journey continues to the Longmen Grottoes. These grottoes were carved with Buddhist themes between 493 AD and 1127 AD. The Longmen Grottoes encompass over 1,400 grottoes and caves spread across Longmen Mountain and Xiang Mountain, which stand across the Yi River. They house more than 100,000 Buddhist statues, 2,500 tablets, stelae, and other religious artifacts.
Finally, guests will be transported back to their hotel.
