Such an incredible experience for first time divers! - Can not recommend this experience enough! Our instructors Claire and Phivi were absolutely amazing and put me completely at ease with diving for the first time, we went as a group of 4 and had an absolute blast! You can see how much Claire and Phivi love diving as they were joyous and attentive throughout, such great humour and such a great dive! Hooked on Scuba thanks to Tempo Divers - I was lucky enough to be walking past the Tempo Divers (and quirkily, Dance School) frontage when I stopped to ask the lady (Claire) about the Scuba introductory dive. She was engaging and very helpful in describing how the experience is created and managed. Such was Claire’s enthusiasm and friendliness, I decided to free the bonds of snorkelling and give Scuba Diving a go, booking the dive for a couple of days hence. I like to be prepared for new experiences and used the intervening days to research the PADI technical theory and advice. Claire had advised me that it would either be herself or her daughter Phoebe taking me through the introductory dive. On the day, I was greeted by Phoebe who possesses her mother’s enthusiasm and engaging style. She sat me down and discussed the technical aspects of what we were about to perform. As an experienced instructor myself [and having done my research!] I was delighted to see that Phoebe took me step by step through the fundamentals and provided not just knowledge but essentially, understanding. I felt ready! The equipment fitting was thorough and although the boots had perhaps seen better days, it all fitted well and was serviceable and clearly well maintained. Phoebe drove the short drive to Green Bay in the company vehicle and on arrival, put the equipment on me and briefed the entry into the water with the ensuing safety drills. The water entry and exit at Green Bay is very safe. Phoebe clearly has this process down to the finest detail as, once submerged and comfortable, I was instructed to lie prone on the sea bed whilst she put my fins on! Apparently this can save a lot of time and frustration for all! We were then on our way with Phoebe taking the lead, staying on my left side to manage my Bouyancy Control Device (BCD). At each stage (3-feet of depth) Phoebe would signal for me to equalise and make sure I was comfortable to continue. We seamlessly transitioned from one stage to another and then arrived at the rock edge overlooking the submerged statues at 10-12 metres depth. With Phoebe’s reassuring checks, we were soon amongst the statues some 35 feet beneath the sea surface! I’m sure I’m not alone in feeling a real sense of achievement when at this point of this dive! Some time around the statues was followed by some exploration of the vicinity discovering the likes of sea sponges and looking into nooks and crannies of the rock formations. After that was the gentle ascent, returning unhurriedly to the start point; all of the time seeing other marine life and of course, some other intrepid first-timers with their ‘Phoebes’. A clean up of the kit and more fresh water for the dry mouth soon had us on our way back to the dive centre to enjoy a Coffee Frappe courtesy of Claire who was waiting to greet our return. The whole event was around 2 hours and 50 minutes although I was very lucky to have 1:1 instruction; more students will naturally take longer to complete. The time spent submerged was 45 minutes; absolutely the right amount of time for the first dive. There is no pressure brought to bear to ‘achieve’ 10-12 metre depth, Claire/Phoebe only take you to where you are comfortable. To Claire and Phoebe, I look forward to seeing you both next year when I can commence and complete the Open Water qualification under the tutelage of your family business. Our family (me, my wife, and our two kids) had the pleasure of diving with Tempo Divers for our first-ever scuba diving experience, and it was absolutely fantastic! This mother-daughter duo truly went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable and confident throughout the entire process. From the moment we arrived, they made us feel welcome and took the time to explain everything in detail. They were incredibly patient and thorough, teaching us all the essential skills in a way that was easy to understand, even for our kids. We felt safe the entire time, and by the time we were in the water, we had all the confidence we needed for an amazing dive. It was clear they were passionate about what they do, and their positive energy made the whole experience fun and exciting for our family. Indispensable experience! - We booked a course with Claire and Ivi and are very grateful for the experience. Claire contacted us in advance via WhatsApp and gave us a pick-up time. Unfortunately, we were unable to provide a precise pick-up location from our hotel at Tripadvisor. Via WhatsApp contact, however, this was quickly resolved and she picked us up from the hotel on time. Once at school, we got a detailed introduction to the equipment, the communication underwater and the sequence. We only completed the dive course for 2. Then we went by car to the bay. Here all preparations were made and Ivi prepared us for the first dive. After a few exercises underwater, we swam deeper, bit by bit. Ivi has adapted to our pace and always provided for our well-being. Specialists are at work here! We saw all kinds of fish and Ivi captured some memories for us underwater. Fantastic experience - supportive, patient and friendly team. Get booked up! - Amazing experience! Perfect for anybody that has never dived before or is worried they won't be able to do it. The day: Ivi picked us up at our hotel and took us to the centre where Claire gave us a run-through of the day, taught us the basics and put a few nerves to rest. Ivi was super supportive and patient with us during the dive and tailored the experience to us. Dropped us back at our hotel afterwards. Thanks again team! Garry & Nicola
