Additional Information

The story of Providence is told by its buildings. Our city’s downtown blossomed during America’s Gilded Age, and has well-preserved examples of Art-Deco, Beaux-Arts, Neoclassical, and many more architectural styles. But this tour goes beyond bricks and windows: peer into the past by learning some of the human stories behind the facades.

This tour also explores the city’s vibrant arts and cultural scene, a key ingredient of its dramatic turnaround from mid-century urban decay to regional arts center. Experience and learn the inspiration for Providence’s most breathtaking murals: these massive works weave into the city’s visual landscape for a result unparalleled anywhere in the United States.

Fun Walking Tour of Providence - 4 of us visited Providence for a long weekend and took the Welcome to Providence Walking Tour. Jimbo was a great guide as he was engaging, friendly, and explained things nicely. He was knowledgeable, fun and helpful with tips on restaurant recommendations and other things to do in Providence. The only recommendation I have is to tell folks to meet inside the Graduate hotel and not give the address.

Great Tour -- from Roger Williams to modern Mobsters - Roger Williams is one of my heroes and I loved visiting the historical site. My wife loved the modern history and the adventures of the long serving mayor.

This is a tour for people... - This is a tour for people who would like to know the whole history of Providence, not for people who would like to know the city.

Tour guide missing! - I gave it only one star because we never had the chance to participate. The tour guide never showed up! We called the tour company a few minutes after the designated meeting time and confirmed that we were at the right place. The company called the guide 3 times and he never responded. I am now trying to get a refund
