The legend and the challenge … topped with incredible descents and unforgettable panoramic views … this is the ideal ride for cyclists on the hunt for tough climbs and epic roads, the symbol of cycling on Lake Como. First, climb the Ghisallo, which doesn’t need any more presentation beyond its name, then, take on the terrible Muro di Sormano …”the WALL”! It’s a 1.8km climb with an average 18% gradient, and a max gradient of 25%. It’s the toughest bike path in the world! Look down at the road as you climb to keep an eye on the altitude, written every meter of the way on the asphalt. The Muro was ridden for 3 years in the Giro di Lombardia from 1960 to 1962, after which it was abandoned for 50 years because it was too hard…even for the pros! Since 2012 the Muro has been put back in the race. You can’t miss it! Give it a try! No putting a foot down!
