Breathtaking - What a beautiful experience!!! I saw images of Carrara marble quarries in Google a few years ago and knew I had to come visit Lucca. Our tour guide Raffael was welcoming and well versed in his knowledge of the area we drove through as well as the Carrara marble quarries. Not only did we see the quarry from the outside but they also brought us inside of the mountains which was breathtaking. After that, we were brought to the town called Coronata, where we had lunch and some wine. It was a lovely day and an experience Iā€™ll never forget

Amazing Carrara Marble Tour - A wonderful tour with Marco of the Carrara Quarry! This is a tour that should not be missed. We went on a rainy day but the site was still spectacular and very interesting. The tour finished at a hilltop village for a local lunch of bread, cheese, meats, lardo, vegetables and wine. Memorable!

Stunning - The marble cave was absolutely stunning. It was really interesting to hear how the marble is cut out and removed and the care that is taken in making sure there are strong columns to support it. The lunch is Colonnata was great fun. The village is lovely.

A stone that makes you live. - I am a sculpture so for me it was like being in haven ( i am not a religious person). It was very beautiful and interesting from different point of views ( geographic , historical, etc ) for me and my wife. I am already planning to come back for the sculpting matters

Awesome tour and guide! - Tommaso was a terrific guide all the way from Lucca to Carrera! The cave tour was awesome and then Tommaso took us up to have some ā€œLardoā€ at the small town of Collanata. It was a great day and worth it!

Excellent marble quarry tour! - Highly recommended! Raffaele was knowledgeable about the region and told us lots of fun stories about Tuscany. He sent a message to confirm the day before the tour, then came to pick us up in his comfortable, air-conditioned van on the day of. We had a fantastic time at the marble quarry along with a lunch at a small village where we tried the lardo de colonata. The lardo surpassed my expectations -- delicious and fragrant and velvety soft like ham -- not like lard at all! The marble quarry tour was unforgettable, and Raffaele made it a fantastic experience.

Highly recommended! - We had a wonderful and eventful day with Tommaso. We were picked up on time and in good spirits at the hotel in Lucca. During the ride Tomasso told us a lot about the background, answered questions and was very gracious and made sure we liked it and we could express our wishes. Once in Carrara we could marvel at the handmade souvenirs and buy them (nothing is talked about here, which I found very good) and Tomasso organized that we got the tour in German. That was really great and Sonja had explained great, responded to the questions and you always had the time to take photos. That was also the case during the tour with Tomasso. Afterwards Tommaso took us to Colonnata, famous for Lardo. Before, he showed us a beautiful little chapel, built mainly with marble. We had a wonderful day with Tomasso, he goes out of his way and shows you the non-tourist sides of Tuscany. An absolute Recommendation. Show less Show less

This is a beautiful mountain village and Raffaele advised were to go to lunch and it was beautiful. It was a really good tour and on the day we went it was just my husband and I.
