My name is Simone Vergamini, and I hold the title of ‘Top Sommelier of Tuscany 2023’. I also secured the 3rd position in the Best Sommelier of Italy in 2018, 2021, and 2022. It would be my honor to guide you through a discovery of the finest wineries. During the tours, I’ll share with you the stories of the local areas, its customs, the vine types, and distinctive features of the region. I’m fully prepared to answer any queries you have, using my extensive knowledge to enrich your experience.
Our tour will include visits to a couple of wineries that showcase the labels from the province of Lucca (Colline Lucchesi and Montecarlo DOC). We’ll explore the vineyards and cellars, and then savour the wines produced there, complemented by local delicacies.
With a deep-rooted love for my profession, I’m continually on the move in search of the top-notch wineries. I have a preference for small yet quality-driven wineries, where you can feel comfortable and at ease, greeted with enthusiasm and professionalism.

Nice wine & great scenery! - We really enjoyed this tour. Simone collected us as arranged & he was a great guide. Both wineries were interesting & in beautiful locations. The wine was delicious & the food lovely too. They catered for gluten-free too which was a bonus! Would definitely recommend!!

Remarkable wine with an excellent guide - Simone provided the four of us with a tour of two wineries in Lucca and Montecarlo that managed to be both relaxed and highly informative. Besides being extremely knowledgeable about the wines of Tuscany, Simone is also unusually genuine and personable. It was a real pleasure to spend the afternoon with him tasting great wine. Highly recommended.

A Great Wine Tour in the Lucca area with Simone - We had a great afternoon with Simone visiting wineries in Montecarlo and Cappella. We were picked up / dropped off near our apartment, so everything was super convenient. Simone shared his detailed knowledge not only of the wines that we were tasting, but also of the other local grape varieties and wine styles produced in the area. The locations of the wineries and views from their terraces were extremely pleasing to the eye and contributed greatly to the overall experience whilst tasting the wines ! It was also good to taste the olive oils that both produced and we came away with samples of those too. Well worth going to the trouble of organizing a Wine Tour with Simone if you are staying in the area as his depth of subject knowledge and relationships with smaller local producers will ensure a very personalized experience.

A great experience! - My wife and I booked a private tour that included two wineries in Tuscany around Lucca. Our sommelier guide, Simone (Simon in English), picked us up at our hotel at 10.00 and we returned by 14.45. Our guide provided a ton of in-depth information about wine in Tuscany in addition to other historic and cultural facts during our drive and during the winery experiences. Light food in addition to the wine tastings was included and everything was setup for us when we arrived at the wineries. The experience was worth the cost and we would do it again.

Lovely wine tour - A wonderful way to spend an afternoon. Simone drove my husband and me to two different wineries. With his helpful guidance, we toured the vineyards, followed the wine making process, and tasted the delicious wines and appetizers. The scenery was beautiful, the conversation delightful, and the wine added to the experience. We highly recommend Simone and his wine tour.

Fabulous wine tour - Simone was a wonderful & knowledgeable wine guide. He knew so much about the area & its wine. We had a great time meeting the owners of the 2 vineyards we visited. Wines were really good and a lot of it. We will certainly recommend Simone to all who would be interested in a wine tour around Lucca.

Grape Escape - This was such a great option. Simone was knowledgeable, generous and funny. He chose great wineries. We were well cared for at each location and the wines were wonderful. I would book again in a moment. We LOVED our time in the tuscany hills.
