Wonderful wine tasting experience - The wine and cheese were delicious! Diogo was a great guide. It is clear that Diogo has spent a lot of time studying the Azores wines and production process. We learned a lot about the wine of the islands. I loved the unique environment where the tasting took place. The room is a perfect set up for interacting with the other people in the group which really added to the experience. On a side note, the tour company should offer to sell the whale cutting boards, multiple people in our group wanted one. The only suggestion for improvement we have is to add fans to the tasting room, it can get stuffy in the room if it is a warm day with little or no breeze.

Food, wine, history - all hosted by a charming tour guide! What more could we have asked for? - I am very happy that our travel advisor planned two Hungry Whale tours for our 3 generation family, myself, my daughter, and two adult grandchildren. One was a Wine and Cheese tour, one a Food tour, both led by Diogo. The former was held in a lovely private home with a beautiful garden, the latter a walking tour around town to sample several foods and drink at several varied establishments. Between the two experiences, we learned a lot about food and wine, plus a lot of Azorean history, all offered in a most knowledgeable and engaging way by Diogo. He was an absolute pleasure to spend our time with. On a future visit, we would definitely request him to be our host and guide. We also enjoyed meeting his charming tour partner Patricia.
