- Llaima - Our journey starts in Pucón and heads towards the Conguillío National Park, situated roughly 80 km to the northeast of Temuco. The climb commences at an altitude of 1600 meters, at the location of the Las Araucarias Ski Resort. The climb typically takes around 6 hours.
The Llaima Volcano is a stratovolcano that towers to a height of 3125 meters above sea level. It is known for its frequent eruptions, making it one of the most active volcanoes on the South American continent. Its name, derived from the Mapudungun language, translates to ‘Veins of Blood’.

Amazing Day trip - I did the climb up Villarica, they explained the trip and the requirements to have a safe climb. Extremely experienced staff and friendly every step of the way so I would highly recommend them if you're in the area.

Amazing Llaima Ascent - We went to the Llaima Volcano from Pucón. We started very early and after a 3 hour drive we arrived to the Araucarias Ski Area, where we started ski touring to the Llaima Volcano. The sites were absolutely breathtaking, it was cold but incredibly sunny.
The quality of the snow was amazing and the guiding was top quality. It took us 6 hours going up and 1 hour going down.
An incredible experience that I would repeat anytime!
