Highlights
  • Biblioteca Palafoxiana - On September 5, 1646, Bishop Palafox y Mendoza donated his personal library, composed of five thousand volumes, to the seminarians of the Tridentine colleges, ordering that it could be consulted by anyone who wanted to read or study, for which it is considered the first public library in the Americas.

Since then, it was established in the former College of San Juan, in the heart of the city of Puebla.

Named in 1981, Historical Monument of Mexico for its beautiful emblem of the baroque Novohispano emblem; and in 2005, included by UNESCO as part of the Memory of the World program for its bibliographic collection of old collections; the Palafoxiana Library is today a museum of books and continues its work as a universal library. In addition, it has a Play Room to disseminate librarian arts among children.

Got rained out - I’m sure our tour would have been excellent if we had gone … but the tour was cancelled due to a rain storm. We were offered a chance to take the tour the next day but we had already booked the Cholula tour the next day at the same time with Josue Rodriguez. By the way, we had a wonderful tour with Josue to Cholula the next day! My husband & I were fortunate enough to be the only people on the tour that morning and Josue was right on time to pick us up. Josue was considerate and informative throughout the tour and we learned so much! Plus I am disabled & have to use a walker & Josue was always so helpful in making sure I could get around safely. Thank you Josue for a wonderful tour! Sue & Kris

Walkabout Puebla - Ariel was a helpful, patient, and knowledgeable guide. He knows the history of the area well, and pointed out details not easily noticed.

Seeing Puebla from the street - This was our second tour with Unlimited Experiences in the area and Juan Pablo was our guide both days. We very much enjoyed Juan Pablo on our Talavera & Cholula tour and were pleased that he was our guide here as well. Juan Pablo is a very good guide - knowledgeable, patient and fun to be with. The walking tour was very nice and definitely the way to see the city - try to go on Sunday... we were treated to the local symphony playing as we toured the beautiful bibiloteca. This tour was informative, beautiful and at a great pace.

Unlimited provides outstanding tourism serves! - We worked with Unlimited Experiences to book the City Walking Tour of Puebla (private), as well as a separate private guide tour to the Museo internacional del barroco, as well as transportation to and from the Pueblo airport to/from our hotel. All in English and all perfectly executed for us. Fernanda who manages Unlimited was terrific in meeting our needs. The guides were outstanding (Rodrigo guided us around cento Puebla, Mario gave a very educationable tour of the Museo). The other staff including Ariel and Daniela and Emmanuele were equally accomodating. I would go with Unlimited to book your excursions which can also be custom made for your interests!
