- Erjos - We go by local bus (Guagua) up to the small village Erjos at a height over the ocean of 1000 meters. Here our hiking journey begins. We walk through different vegetation zones - the forest soon becomes more dense. We follow the trail, and listen to the bird world. Strange rock formations and deep ravines appear. The world of the black caves soon opens up in its full beauty. We walk down and come into the Cochina Valley.

Join us to explore the hidden and genuine Tenerife, untouched by mass tourism. In this excursion, we trek from Erjos situated at an altitude of 1000m, navigating through glorious laurel woods and stunning landscapes offering heart-stopping panoramas. We tread ancient walking paths that descend into deep ravines with the distinctive black caves nestled in the towering cliffs, once inhabited by the indigenous Guanches. A downward trip of 950 meters is involved. At the base, we’ll explore a concealed canyon enriched with phenomenal rock formations, jungles, and cascades. Lastly, we’ll arrive at the charming town of Los Silos.
The rendezvous point for the expedition is the bus terminal in Puerto de la Cruz. Alternatively, you could also join the squad at Icod Los Vinos. Bus fare is incorporated in our package. The trip spans around 5 hours in total, with approximately 3 hours dedicated to hiking. We’ll descend around 950m. The hike is of moderate ease.
At the expedition’s conclusion, we’ll head back to Puerto de la Cruz collectively.
