Peninsula Valdes - This Protected Natural Area boasts one of the world’s most captivating ecosystems, home to Whales, Orcas, Sea Lions, Elephant Seals, Magellan Penguins, Maras, Guanacos, and Choiques, all coexisting in the same habitat. About 35 miles from Puerto Madryn, we reach El Desempeño, the main entrance to Peninsula Valdes. After another 30 miles, we arrive at Puerto Piramides, where from June to December, you can take a boat to observe the Southern Right Whales. For the rest of the year, there are nautical trips to see Sea Lions and enjoy the scenery. From Puerto Piramides, we head to Caleta Valdes, 47 miles away, where you can marvel at the magnificent Elephant Seals and Penguins. Continuing to Punta Norte, we encounter Sea Lions, Elephant Seals, and occasionally Orcas. On the way back to Puerto Madryn, we will stop at Los Pajaros Island, home to a diverse array of sea birds, concluding our visit to this incredible Protected Natural Area.
-
Centro De Visitantes Istmo Ameghino - The visitor center is located just after passing through El Desempeño (where we pay the entrance fee to Peninsula Valdes, which is not included in the excursion rate). Here, you will get an overview of Peninsula Valdes and its attractions, as well as access to the viewpoint where you can see sights like the new gulf, San Jose gulf, and Los Pajaros Island.
-
Puerto Piramides - Puerto Piramides is the only place where you can embark on a boat to watch the Southern Right Whale (optional and not included in the rate).
-
Punta Norte - The Punta Norte wildlife reserve is one of the most visited areas of Peninsula Valdes. Here, we will see Elephant Seals, Sea Lions, and occasionally Orcas.
-
Estancia San Lorenzo - The San Lorenzo ranch (comprising sheep) is within the protected area of Peninsula Valdes, 160 km from the city of Puerto Madryn in the Province of Chubut, Patagonia, Argentina. Along the coast, we find an incredible colony of more than 600,000 Magellan Penguins, open to visitors from September 7 to March 31.
