Arrival in Puerto Maldonado – Transfer to Lodge

Arrival in Puerto Maldonado – Transfer to Lodge
Tambopata River - Upon arriving at the airport or bus station in Puerto Maldonado, guests will be greeted and taken to our office for registration. Any excess luggage will be securely stored at our office in Puerto Maldonado before transferring to the lodge. A refreshing welcome drink will be provided. After enjoying a delicious lunch, the adventure begins with the Canopy Tower, which stands 35 meters tall and is constructed at the base of a giant Lupuna Tree, a symbol of the Amazon’s grandeur. After exploring the canopy, guests will have the opportunity to zip-line through the forest. Later, the next activity involves taking a boat along the Madre de Dios River to search for Jungle caimans, often found on the riverbanks, and with some luck, capybaras may also be spotted. Overnight stay at the lodge.
NOTE: Arrival flights must be scheduled before 13:00 for transportation.
Lake Sandoval – Return to Puerto Maldonado
Tambopata River - Following a delightful breakfast, guests will board a boat to reach the Tambopata National Reserve Zone control. After a 1.5-hour walk through the rainforest, they will arrive at the renowned Sandoval Lake, surrounded by towering ancient trees and tangled vines. Visitors will witness a vibrant array of flora and fauna, including Giant Otters, birds, colorful butterflies, turtles, and various fish species. A few hours will be spent canoeing on this stunning lake, one of the most beautiful in the region.
Guests will return to the lodge and then take a boat back to Puerto Maldonado, with the boat departing at 10:30 am, followed by a transfer to the airport or bus station.
