Arrival in Puerto Maldonado - Transfer to Lodge

Tambopata River - Upon arrival at the airport or bus station in Puerto Maldonado, guests will be greeted and taken to our office for registration. Any excess luggage will be securely stored at our office in Puerto Maldonado before transferring to the lodge. A refreshing welcome drink will be provided. After enjoying a delicious lunch, the adventure begins with the Canopy Tower, which stands 35 meters tall and is constructed at the base of a giant Lupuna Tree, a symbol of the Amazon’s grandeur. After exploring the canopy, guests will have the opportunity to zip-line through the forest. Later, the next activity involves taking a boat along the Madre de Dios River to search for Jungle caimans, often found on the riverbanks, and with some luck, capybaras may also be spotted.

Sandoval Lake

Tambopata River - Following a hearty breakfast, guests will take a boat to the Tambopata National Reserve Zone control point. After a 1.5-hour walk through the rainforest, they will arrive at the renowned Sandoval Lake, surrounded by towering ancient trees and tangled vines. Visitors will encounter vibrant flora and fauna, including Giant Otters, birds, colorful butterflies, turtles, and various fish species. A few hours will be spent canoeing on this stunning lake, one of the most beautiful in the region. The remainder of the day is reserved for relaxation and enjoying the soothing sounds of the jungle.

Native Family and Rustic Fishing

Tambopata River - Guests will embark on the majestic Madre de Dios River, heading downstream for an hour to visit the Native Community of Ese´Ejas, the largest Ese Eja community with approximately 200 families, of which two will be visited. In the afternoon, there will be an opportunity for rustic fishing in the Madre de Dios River, with the chance to catch species such as pictus catfish, smallmouth, armored catfish, and red-eye piranha.
Return to the lodge for dinner.

Parakeet’s Clay Lick – Puerto Maldonado

Tambopata River - Early in the morning, guests will depart the lodge to visit the parakeet clay licks. Each morning, parakeets gather to consume nutrient-rich clay that provides essential salts and minerals to help metabolize and neutralize the toxins and acids from their diet of flowers, fruits, and seeds.

Guests will return to the lodge around 7 am for breakfast and then take a boat back to Puerto Maldonado, with the boat departing at 10:30 am. This will be followed by a transfer to the airport or bus station.
