When it's good, let it be known... - Near the main street of this beautiful village of Semblançay, which welcomed me warmly almost a year and a half ago, I had the chance to meet Karine and Paulo Batista, as well as their daughter. These craftsmen, of remarkable humility in the face of their work, exercise an exceptional profession: that of Master Confituriers. My discovery of their jams began with a gift: an assortment of their creations. As a food lover, I was literally amazed by the intensity of the aromas. A question immediately arose: how can we achieve such a degree of perfection? Stung by curiosity, I went to their laboratory located on rue Louis Jérôme Gonthier, in Semblançay. Paulo welcomed me generously and explained to me for more than an hour, his manufacturing secrets, stressing the importance of fresh fruit and the requirement in every step of the process. I understood why his jams, made with almost alchemical care, are so exceptional. Paulo is not just anyone: he was named the 5th Master Confitmaker of the world, a recognition that is equivalent to that of Best Worker of France. When I left, I bought an assortment of their creations: apricot, blackcurrant, cherry cherry (sublime with an old county!), fig, strawberry, raspberry... Each pot was a real explosion of flavors. I even wanted to share this experience with my son, cook in the great Parisian palaces. During this second visit, he was just as impressed as I was by the exceptional quality of the products. Besides jams, we discovered their syrups (cherry, strawberry, raspberry), their caramels, and, for Christmas, their artisan fruit pasta, all equally remarkable. It is a bit of a shame that in Semblançay, these talented craftsmen are not put forward more. Karine and Paulo Batista contribute to the influence of our village far beyond the borders of the department. In them, no chemicals, no preservatives, no artificial flavors: only fruits, fruits, and still fresh fruits, some sugar and a lot of love. What more can I say? Everything is excellent at home, and their warm welcome puts balm at the heart. So, if you pass by Semblançay, do not hesitate: meet them. You won’t be disappointed, and you’ll understand why these jams are among the best in the world.

It is a star of the sea indeed. I enjoyed the stay and i will reapt it as soon as possible. The hotel is clean and tidy. - The heated swimming pool was perfect for this time of the year. The food is good. The staff is really friendly and helpful.

Amazing staff - just amazing time here at the Grand kandyan hotel. We had an easy and smooth time. I really appreciate customer service I would recommend Mr Hasitha meet him he have good Performance and quality.

The best 👌 - Was at ocean's creek hotel for the 2nd time on 02 to 03 December with my friends we had an amazing weekend with excellent food and drinks and great entertainment and a big thanks once again to Mr Kooshal and his team for taking very good care of us and making our stay so marvelous we will be back again next year for sure.

Vacation Lodge Just what it say! - We reserved the Vacation Lodge. What an amazing place. Mrs. Gail at the front desk is a jewel. The room was GREAT. Amenities were clean and my little niece enjoyed them, The breakfast was good. It was just an overall great trip. Better than the cabins that we paid so much for in the past. The location was just what we needed in the center of everything. You can't go wrong with this spot.

Caught fish - We caught some nice fish but it could have been more inclusive and interactive with the process. The boat was old and did not have a lot of seating on the fishing deck. It was clean, however, and the people were nice and worked hard.

Don’t arrange transportation with them or think you will have your fish prepared - I had arranged transportation for my son and husband through the fishing company. I was also told they would have an opportunity to take fish to restaurant nearby and have fish prepared. This was not offered. The crew just took the fish. Reference the transportation. After fishing the company said they did not have my husbands name in the computer. I called using what’s app. They advised they could not find anything. I referenced them to the messages we had in what’s up. 1 1/2 hours later. A bus came to pick them up. I was definately not happy. Neither where my son and husband left at the marina by themselves.

Very poor communication but a fun outing. - Very disappointed with lack of communication even when I specifically asked the tour operator specific questions about time and meeting location. Then appare They only had one of the four of us listed to participate on their end but clearly saw amount of money paid for four and in one of the questions I specifically stated that me and my three boys are looking forward to it. Also it would be great to have known that this is not the season for great fishing. We did end up catching a few little ones but the captain told us fishing is great in June and on.
