The Best Damajagua Waterfalls Shore Excursion and Party from outside the main gates of the Amber Cove port in Puerto Plata awaits! Your REAL adventure starts with a narrated, countryside drive to the Damajagua Waterfalls “base camp”, located at the edge of a tropical forest.
You will cross a river and streams before making an approximately 30-minute uphill hike. Your return to base camp will be via a series of jumps and slides through waterfalls and natural water slides carved by centuries of rushing water. Your highly skilled coach and guide, a member of our “Jump Crew”, will be with you from start to finish - making all the jumps and slides with you!
The party starts immediately following your adventure when your coach becomes party host! You will enjoy free-flowing rum punch and lively local music on the return. Your adventure and party is approximately 4-hours leaving you plenty of time to enjoy the Amber Cove Cruise Center.

- Passengers with canes or walkers may not participate

Excellent customer service! - The team did a great job of making sure we made the excursion after our cruise ship held us up from getting off.
We were in line to get off the ship early to make this excursion. The gangway was unexpectedly closed to allow another ship to dock.
This 30 minute delay caused us to miss our bus.
Fortunately, I was able to communicate the issue to Addison, who contacted Rosie at the bus.
Rosie waited for us, then road with us in the taxi to catch up to the group.
Once there, Zander did a great job leading us on the excursion.
He even helped celebrate my son’s birthday.
This was an all around great experience!

Hiking the Waterfalls in the Dominican - The hike and waterfalls were gorgeous! Some of the people in our group were exhausted from the hike but me & my kids enjoyed everything about it. The guide was thoughtful and allowed many breaks or a slower pace to accommodate.

AMAZING AND CHEAPER THAN WHAT CARNIVAL OFFERS IN PRICE - “If you’re considering a waterfall excursion in the Dominican Republic, STOP THINKING AND JUST GO! This experience was hands-down one of the highlights of my trip. The waterfalls were absolutely breathtaking—nature at its finest—but honestly, the real MVP was our tour guide, Jordan.
Jordan wasn’t just a guide; he was the life of the party. He had so much energy, made us all laugh, and made everyone feel like we were part of one big family. Whether he was helping us navigate the trails, cracking hilarious jokes, or hyping us up to jump into the crystal-clear water, he made the entire experience unforgettable.
And let me tell you about the rum punch—OH MY GOD. Jordan made sure we always had a full cup, and it was pure perfection. Smooth, refreshing, and just the right amount of kick to keep the vibes high. By the end of the trip, everyone was laughing, dancing, and living their best lives.
If you want an excursion with stunning scenery, amazing people, and someone as awesome as Jordan leading the way, this is the one to book. 10/10 vibes all around!”

Great Times at Waterfalls with Puerto Plata Adventures - Puerto Plata Adventures was our company that gave the tour and Jordan was our guide. He was fabulous. Very down to earth and nice person. He told us about the history and culture as we drove to the Waterfalls. He prepared us very well, explaining what we did and didn't need. He made sure we had a chance to change/go to the bathroom both before and after. We received a bottle of water to drink on the way up (local regulations don't let you keep it longer). We teamed up with the main waterfall crew, but Jordan stayed with us the whole time and offered more concise directions than the rest of the group received. We always knew what was coming. He spoke English very well and honestly rarely even noticed anything that he didn't understand that we said. Was very personable. We enjoyed local fruit and rum punch on the way back from the excursion. The company he works at offers other tours as well. We will either do a longer waterfall tour or a town tour next time, but will definitely request Puerto Plata Adventures and Jordan.

Wonderful adventure - It was a small group of 6 people which was very nice. Never felt rushed or unsafe. Pickup location was easy to find outside of the port. Rum punch at the end of the tour was delicious! 40 min hike to the waterfalls, with plenty of breaks if needed. Winston was our tour guide, very friendly and informative. Stayed with us the entire time. Richard was our waterfall guide, gave clear instructions and kept with the pace of our group. Would definitely do again!

Water adventure - They will bunch you with a large group (65 people) so you are constantly waiting in the water for the group to come together. There were only two slides and one jump so a found it to be a bit overpriced. It was fun but would have been more value with a few more slides and/or jumps with less waiting. Our tour guides, Xander, Willie and Jordan were awesome and gave a background of the DR on the bus ride.

If you like hiking in beautiful surroundings, this is right up your alley. - Well it started out bumpy because our ship ended up closing the gangway as we were about to disembark. 30min later, our tour group had left without us.
Enter Tony with Puerto Plato adventures who went above and beyond to get us over to the waterfalls and to our group so we could still have the experience.
He shuttled us over with folks from another ship, then personally walked my friend and I through the forest to our group in time for jumping the waterfall. I cannot say enough about Tony and how he watched out for us and helped us.
The hike through the forest was beautiful, the waterfall jump looked scary to me so I chose to watch which was completely fine. My friend jumped and enjoyed it. Xander was the guide for the group and he was super friendly and fun and the drive back to the ship was lively. Fun excursion to go on for an afternoon when in the Dominican!

Sweat on up…then cool on down. - Fantastic experience! We were a small group(8) that attached to the front of a larger gaggle of hikers/waterfall jumpers for our trek up the mountain/hill through the lush and beautiful forest. The trail was well marked and on a moderate incline, such that our group guided by Tony had to wait for others to catch up. Once we all arrived at the 1st waterfall, we were first to slide and jump on every waterfall down to our origination point.
I felt totally safe as we were all equipped with both helmet and flotation device. Tony also provided great instruction.
Work up a sweat on the way up and enjoy the refreshing plunge into the waters below. Again, I had a wonderful time and I would highly recommend.

The guides are wonderful - Our tour guide, Angel, was wonderful! Also the gentlemen who led us to the falls were helpful and kind. I'm rating this as average because we didn't find out until the last minute that we'd only see 1 waterfall, rather than 27. This was due to flooding, so not a reflection of our guides who did the best with what they had available.
