After a few Minutes of trails we ride to get Bergantin Beach where you will spend most of the time riding along and after an hour and a half, we let the horses take some rest.

After a short drive you will arrive at the ranch where the horses are waiting already saddled up. Our horses are well-cared for and well-fed but most of all the staff truly loves each one of them. What a Ride !!! 🙌 - Great experience! Argentis and Hans were wonderful and very attentive! It was a bit hard to find the driver and I was told different places for pick up by the people at the port stores but I finally met up with the driver . I try to horseback ride whenever I travel . I am not professionally trained but for the most part have no fear and can hold my own on a horse .
My ship arrived later than the original excursion time an I was accommodated.
We met my guides after a 20 minute car ride and although it wasn’t a typical ranch setting , I felt comfortable. It was pretty muddy from the rain but once we made it to the ocean, it was glorious! I had probably one of my favorite excursions of all time ! I am returning in a few months and if my friend doesn’t need me in Puerto Plata, I will be rebooking this same excursion ! The muddy shoes and backpack were Sooo worth it ! Thank you for an awesome adventure!

Horseback Riding - Great staff well behaved horses, beautiful beach view. Trouble with pictures, but all worked out. Samuel and Antonio kept in contact till it was resolved.

Detailed experience of horseback riding - I decided to lookup something other than a ship excursion. I booked the horseback riding and went with Hanz (sorry if misspelled!) There was only one frustrating part so I’ll address that first. I had a hard time finding the driver. I went outside of port, past the solar panels, past the last white gate, and walked alllllll the way down the main road to the left. I had to turn on my cell service to locate the driver. I was in his personal car and it was just us. He didn’t speak English but was nice. He dropped me off to Hanz. I admit all of it did look sketchy and you do have to be smart in the DR. If I hadn’t booked through this reliable website and saw other great reviews I wouldn’t have done it. But I had an absolutely GREAT time on my trip! It was just myself and Hanz- no group. The best part was it wasn’t “follow the leader” style like most excursions. It is still totally fine if you’re a beginner but he let me ride naturally, go at my own pace and even do some racing. I’d say the entire excursion was about 3 hours with 1.5 hours on horseback. We started in the woods then spent time at the beach. Stopped about halfway for a 30min break or so where you could get drinks and eat. He took videos of me and photos and didn’t charge, so I added extra tip. We were vibing listening to some music on our phones and singing. Honestly I had a great time. Thanks so much!

An experience I will never forget! - This was so much fun! What’s an amazing experience! I got there and got to pick out my horse, before we set out on this beautiful trip on a path that lead out to the beach!

Come for the horses, stay for the views! - We had a great time with this horseback riding experience! Very easy to reschedule as our cruise ship arrived a different day than expected. Communication was prompt and efficient and the views were beautiful.

Highlight of my visit to DR - This was the highlight of my pleasant, though brief, visit to Puerto Plata on a cruise. I was so scared to get on the horse because I've never ridden a horse before, but our tour guides made us feel comfortable with their steady assurances that we would be fine and their simple instructions. We rode for about 20 mins until we came to the beautiful beachside, where our guide took photos of us. I am really proud of myself for learning a new skill. I would highly recommend this tour, even if you are having hesitations about your ability. This was really fun & peaceful.

Great Experience! - This was my favorite activity on this visit to the DR. The horse riding on the beach was the best. We are novice horse riders but they gave us the chance to trot on the beach which was a lot of fun and gave us lasting memories!

Go for it - Very fun! I’d recommend! Anthony was very good at communicating, easy to reach out and keep in contact with. They are also very accommodating, we were on a cruise that had to depart early and Anthony worked with us. The beach was beautiful, horses friendly. Even had someone there to take pictures, that you can pay for at the end $50 usd.

Horseback riding ok, but not a great experience. - Having never been to Puerto Plata before, it would have been good to be given instructions on where to go to be picked up. It is a long walk from pier to pick up point (which we eventually found). Transportation was two vehicles for our group and they had to split up a family. Not appropriate for an excursion. The guides where very helpful getting people on and off the horses, but other than that, we had to share the path with dune buggy type vehicles which made the path for the horses much harder. it was a slow ride and no stretch to run the horses. Got a nice photo on the beach with the horses, but the rest stop at the beach is far too long. An hour with no real facilities. It is a shame to see the trash, empty water bottles and litter all over the ground.

The communication was... - The communication was excellent initially… I received instructions via whatsapp the week before; the day before; and the morning of the tour. One hour before meeting for the tour, I was told the driver was waiting for us. Six minutes later I was told the tour was canceled due to weather. This weather was rain during the previous day, not something that had just happened. If I was told sooner we could have found another activity to replace it. Instead, we were left hanging.
The good thing was they issued a refund quickly.
