Better than expected - I wasn’t sure what to expect and quite frankly wasn’t too excited but this tour is anything but boring! Jose made this a great experience. He is very knowledgeable and friendly! Our driver was Manuel. They unexpectedly provided water, coke, and sprite on the air conditioned bus too! There’s a perfect mix of history, shopping, and experiencing the local culture. But above all, the Monkeyland experience was awesome! We’ve done a monkey/sloth excursion before but this one was so much better. The environment is laid back and quiet and you get so much time with them. Mario was very informative and took extra time to answer any questions. But it doesn’t end there. Then you get to experience what a local house/kitchen is like and sample mamajuana (drink) and hot chocolate. They also have all the native fruit and vegetable trees/plants to look at. We never felt unsafe. Overall a wonderful experience.

Fun, interesting and exciting! - We booked this tour through carnival. It was a tour of Puerta Plata and Monkeyland combo. I took my mom 67 and 2 kids ages 8 and 11. It was the highlight of our trip. Seeing umbrella street and tasting the local coffee and hot cocoa. Learning about their culture and imports/exports was very interesting. We did a little shopping, eating, tasting. We had enough time to take picrures. The kids really enjoyed the city and loved monkeyland. Our tour guide Jose Rojas were great and driver Danny was very helpful and friendly. We would recommend the tour if you want to see a little taste of culture instead of sitting around getting burnt and fat.

A Wonderful Experience with an Exceptional Team! - We absolutely loved our tour of Puerto Plata with Runners Adventures! A huge thank you to our guide José Roja, who was amazing, and our driver Juan Bomba, who looks just like Morgan Freeman! Their professionalism, great energy, and attention to detail made us feel like we were on a VIP excursion. The atmosphere was warm, almost like family, and we truly enjoyed every moment. An unforgettable experience that we highly recommend to anyone visiting the area! Thank you again to the entire team!

Runnersadventures is a great company and highly recommend - Started the day off driving to the top of Mt Isabel de Torres which had spectacular views of peurto Plata city and wondered around the beautiful park up there. After that we headed down the Mt to the Macroix rum factory where we all became a liittle bit happy lol numerous rum tastings which was fun, now off to city centre where we did some shopping , umbrella street, pink street, amber and cigar museum and more walking around enjoying the sights, head on over to have a lunch provided by the tour operators which was satisfying, for dessert we headed to Del Oro chocolate factory where you will be greeted with the delicious smell of chocolate as you enter the doorway. Sampled and had a little tour of how the whole process takes place (yummy). Had to buy a bunch before leaving . To finish off the tour we headed to Fortaleza de san Felipe and explored it and watched the cruise ships come and go . It was a great experience and have to give credit to our great driver, Diego bus 29 and awesome and informative tour guy Batael I believe that’s how you spell it. It was great experience and highly recommend

Professional City Tour - My wife and were so blessed to have Tour Guide Leo show us the City. Leo’s concern for all of to learn about the City exceeded our expectations. Invited us to continually ask questions and explained about unique trees, statues and each building from the old Discotheque, to the Mayor’s Residence, the Beautiful Catholic Church and much more. Allowed everyone ample time to explore, shop and sample items at each store in the City. Budgeted the time so we weren’t rushed and still allowed us to see everything he told us about at the start of the tour. A true professional in every respect. Another true professional we were privileged to meet, was our driver Pedro. His skilled driving techniques made the tour safe and smooth. His parking skills when parking and getting out of some tight parking spaces kept the tour on schedule and along with Leo’s leadership with our group, got us back to our drop off point with plenty of time to spare. Our sincerest thanks to both of these professionals for making our tour an enjoyable experience and one we’ll definitely remember for quite some time. Your Tour Company should be proud of these gentlemen and thankful to have 2 Employees that work so diligently to make a successful and safe tour for your customers. Since thanks! Amazing City Tour And Monkeyland Experience - The city tour was fun and very informative. Rafael made the experience so much better. We got to shop around local shops in Puerto Plata and sample some Mama Juana. But of course, the best part of the experience had to be the monkeys at Monkeyland! They made sure we got photos taken by them but also allowed us to take our own with our phones which is incredible compared to a lot of other excursions I’ve done. Overall an amazing experience and highly recommend going.

Good experience - - Guide (Mateis) was good overall but didn't have the answer to everything (for example, where to find local venues with bachata or merengue music) - Lunch buffet place did their best effort to accommodate my dietary restrictions - Cable car ride at Mont Isabel de Torres was NOT included - I feel like we had some flexibility to wander around and not feel rushed to go back to the bus every time - The souvenir shops they took us to were very expensive (e.g., I couldn't find a simple magnet for less than 5 USD) - Runners whatsapp number doesn't work, I mean they don't respond

Puerto Plata city tour - The tour didnt completely match the description. We didnt visit rum factory or drive up the hill to see the statue etc. This was not compensated in the price which was quite high. Also we didnt have enough time to stroll around the city. Just a few quick pics and we were rushed to move to the next spot. Amber museum was interesting and the museum guide was really good. We also liked the visit at the chocolate factory. Lunch was quite bland and dry. All in all i think its better to visit the city independently since it is quite small and all the places we visited are in a walking distance from eachother.
