Great tour - GREAT guide - BEST GUIDE, Elian Sosa was pleasant, knowledgeable about the area and culture, geared tour for us. Elian presented us with numerous sights, activities, museums and local attractions. The day was ours to plan. Nothing short of a 5 star day.

An amazing day in Puerto Plata! - We thought the whole experience was excellent! Jose Sosa was the best guide! Happy, friendly, funny, patient, knowledgeable, and just a great spirit.
The excursion itinerary was clearly layed out. Yes, the amber museum is short and they sell things but find amber somewhere else in the world...good luck on that. The rum tour was quick but for good reason, you get 8 shots of rum in 30min but still a great tour. The fort was closed, the mountain was closed but the beaches weren't nor was the market area.
There was no feeling of being ripped off (others felt) as we knew exactly what we were doing that day and how long each event was to be, all due to E&J giving accurate details of the plan when booking.
If you dock in Taino Bay - give yourself 30 minutes to get off the ship and out the gates to meet your ride. It takes that long to get through the area.
ALSO..ships time may NOT be the local time. The port visit is from 7am to 3:30pm SHIP time. When making your plans to meet, account for that as we didn't, and lost some time in the day. Jose made all that up for us and made it a wonderful experience. We are family now José!

Do not book this... - Do not book this excursion. The rum factory which is aupposed to be a highlight was closed the shops we visited did not have lights everything was dim and looked used. The chocolate factory tour was a complete joke the girl took 5 min to run through some mediocre script and that was it. Went to another bar they had one drop of liquor in each bottle. We all felt like the tour was a scam.
