The vibrant Umbrella and Pink Streets offer a variety of sights, sounds, and photo opportunities, while the historic center, Parque Independencia, reflects the Dominican Republic’s Restoration era, featuring Gregorio Luperon, a key figure in the country’s fight for independence. Visitors will explore the cathedral and drive along the Malecon, with a quick photo stop at Neptune’s Statue, located on an islet just off the coast. There will be a brief facilities stop at a resort area before heading to a more mountainous region, passing by colorful, traditional houses. The tour includes a stop at a local fruit stand and a visit to a colmado, reminiscent of an old-fashioned corner store. After visiting a mountain lodge to sample Dominican coffee and enjoy sweeping valley views, the tour concludes with a return to Playa Dorada for a stroll along the beach boardwalk and a refreshing rum punch.
