An unique experience in the dark just outside bustling city of Puerto Princesa - Nice experience to watch fireflies in the dark. Special mention to our guide who explained the types and lifecycle of fireflies. The dinner was super with local cuisine and people from all around the world sharing food👍.

Majestic Mystical Experience - A Firefly Watching tour is usually packaged with a simple buffet dinner in a restaurant and hotel pickup/dropoff, which makes planning it extremely hassle-free and convenient. Unfortunately, there is a limit in the number of paddle boats that can do the trips simultaneously so waiting for your turn (and for everyone else in your tour group to finish) can take a while. Aboard the paddle boat though, the experience becomes a magical, majestic and mystical as it makes you appreciate nature at its raw and unadulterated form. The eeriness and stillness of the mangrove forest is coupled by the silence and darkness of the night. The only sources of light would be coming from the light reflected on the moon, and the boatman's flashlight; save for the astonishing trees filled with fireflies that you slowly pass by. My camera couldn't really take proper photos and videos of the fireflies; but this inconvenience turned into a blessing in disguise as it forced me to just completely live in that moment.

Christmas in July - After having a delicious dinner, we headed to the location to take our paddle boat along the river. We had to wait some time before we could take our boat. It’s a very popular attraction! Once on our boat, out brilliant tour guide and navigator took us to the locations of the fireflies. They were beautiful! I really enjoyed paddling up and down the river, under the backdrop of a full moon. This is a must do tour when in town!

Obviously, this is a night time... -
Obviously, this is a night time tour. It includes dinner on the way to the site. The dinner was great but the highlight was the firefly watching. We rode in a paddle boat and it took half an hour alongside the river bank and half an hour to go back. The ride is so serene and romantic. The lights produced by the firefly is so beautiful in a dark night. It looks like a Christmas tree is lit on and off.
Unbelievable experience. For the price, it's all worth it and more.

Fireflies - The tour guide was great on the ride to the destination and on the boat. The food was cold and didn’t taste good. Didn’t see many fireflies either. Wouldn’t recommend this activity. Too many other great things to do.

Very disappointing! - The jump off point for the boats and the dinner were nicely landscaped and decorated. The buffet dinner was only adequate with only a single soup selection and 4 or 5 other dishes for the buffet. During the dinner, a presentation was given on the fireflies and what else you might see. Aside from a pleasant paddle boat in the dark, it was really disappointing not to see much in terms of fireflies. On the boat ride out and back we saw maybe about 15 trees that had fireflies. It was not as advertised where there would be thousands of fireflies around you. While they also talked about bioluminescent plankton, we never saw any. Not worth the money unless you wanted to see the stars at night in a boat! The first picture is what we saw and the second picture is what they advertised what we would see.
