Worth the price and more - My husband and I flew into San Juan a day early for a cruise in order to be able to take this excursion and it was the best experience of the trip. Rafael was our guide for the morning tour of the rainforest and was a constant source of information and consideration. He was willing to answer any question asked, not only about the rainforest but also about life and culture in Puerto Rico making this portion of the day a totally enjoyable learning experience. Once we reached the rainforest he not only told us about the flora and fauna but demonstrated indigenous techniques such as making a hat from a single leaf and using rocks to create paint for petroglyphs or body art. His concern for our enjoyment and safety was constant. He was even able to spot an elusive coqui which he said he had only been able to find once before. After the rainforest, he dropped us at the beach for lunch, shopping and relaxing. There were many food and drink choices and we enjoyed a light lunch while watching the waves roll in. We planned on sunning and swimming but the weather was dreary with intermittent light rain. This also made the water grayish-brown rather than the Caribbean blue of travel photos, disappointing but beyond control. At 5:15 we were picked up by Angel who drove us to the bioluminescent bay where we were given the briefest of instructions and adjusting of the kayak seating. We were given much too little information as to how the seating should be adjusted which resulted in my husband being unable to use his legs to brace himself while paddling. This made it extremely difficult and tiring to do so and necessitated adjustments after leaving the dock—much more difficult. Being told that we should have done this at the dock was “blaming the victim” as there had been no information about how we should be positioned before setting off. Upon reaching the bay, our guides gave a short explanation of the bioluminescence then let us paddle around on our own as desired to create splashes and wakes to see the glow—-incredible! When it was time to go back we were battling against the tide making progress extremely difficult. All of my disappointment in our guides from the beginning of the experience completely disappeared when the female guide tied our kayak to hers and the male guide tied the other two kayaks to his and they literally pulled us all back to the dock! I was unable to paddle the entire time due to a medical condition and my husband’s fatigue after the trip out left him almost completely unhelpful in paddling once we were hooked up so that our guide truly did all of the work. I am so sorry that I can’t remember her name. Considering that this excursion cost us not only the standard fee but also the cost of a hotel room and two extra meals—-it was worth every penny!

Delightful - It was absolutely delightful. However the 4 hour stay on the beach was a little much. We did not know that was what leisurely lunch and shopping on the beach meant.

Great tour! - I loved this tour, I really enjoyed the whole day! Our tour guide was Rafael and he was great, very nice and knowledgeable. The tour was great as they take you to 3 different locations and you get to see a lot of the island. Be prepared to for a full day of activity, it is doable but it is a long day. Eat a good breakfast, bring an extra change of clothes and a towel if you plan on getting in the water, which you totally should! Bring water shoes and a water bag for your phone for the river/beach, sunblock and bug spray for the kayaking! Overall this tour was great and I highly recommend it.

Fun day in Puerto Rico - Great day. Fun way to see the best of Puerto Rico - tropical rain forest, beach and kiosks in Luquillo, and biolum bay (so cool). They did a great job answering questions before hand and getting us around.

Wimpy but a W overall! - The trip was great! I wish the hike would have shown more of el Yunque and been more interactive. It was more so a stroll through the rainforest. I also wished there would have been cliff jumps and waterslides but we just splashed around in a creek. To be fair, we got exactly what was advertised but this tour was a lot wimpier than other ones. Still was very beautiful! The rainforest, Luquillo, and kayaking were all amazing especially the kayaking! Tour guides were so sweet

Separate these activities - This is a very long day. The El Yunque part was amazing and I give this a 5 star review. Shout out to Rafael -- he was great!! We thought logistically it made sense to do this all in one day since we are staying in San Juan and it's a 45 minute drive to Fajardo and Luquillo is on the way. But we spent 4 hours in Luquillo and you really only need time to eat and then you're done. The beach isn't anything special. The bio bay was really cool but there were about 1000 people too many at one time because there are so many tour operators. And when we were going back in the dark there were large motorized boats coming the other way. I'm shocked no one has been run over by those boats. The kayak company this tour uses is fair but the guides really didn't speak to us other than to give instructions. They did give a little information on the phytoplankton that cause the bioluminescence but really only minimal info.

Fun, but is it worth it? - I had a great time but felt this excursion was mostly spent traveling throughout the day. It wasn’t worth the price but I was still happy to experience the nature side of PR.

Better off with different company. - Don't know if this was the cheapest one. It sure looked like it though. Most of the people were friendly. The kicker was that on the bioluminescent bay the lead guide sort of ditched us. I was rammed multiple times by other guests. I backed up to get out of their way and the lead guide just sort of took off. She couldn't have heard me screaming at her if she tried. I lost complete view of her in the middle. She stopped 2 times and then took off each time. The trip up to that point was okay. I would have been happier just driving my self for the first half, but so many reviews said don't just let them. It was easier letting them drive but for all purposes it was basically an advanced Uber for the first half. Kayak guide just left me upset. I would have be fired for this lapse in safety. Their were guides behind us, and it is truly hard for this part to be unsafe. The one truth I have learned in life is don't ever count out stupid.

Very bad experience and logistics - We started with the fact that they never communicated in advance to give instructions. I had to call repeatedly until I could arrange the tour. When the big day arrived, in my application I made it clear that I wanted a tour. In Spanish it turned out that it was not like that, in the anvil which is the most important part of the tour they do them to leave The pace was very fast and the time to enjoy it took a maximum of 20 minutes, it took more time to get there than to enjoy it. We didn't go to any waterfalls. And everything was too fast for us to then They take you to a place where they leave you for 5 hours, which is Luquillo, it is an unattractive beach with most of the sites closed. And without the possibility of being able to do something else. This was fatal, the truth is that it was 5 hours lost where it could be distributed much better on the anvil and give it the value it needs, not that fatal service. And finally they took us to the bio kayaks and it turned out that it is not the season, just to appreciate how impressive it must be in summer. The rest of the time you can hardly appreciate anything. In short, it was a very bad tour with terrible service and a negative experience of so many things that the island has to offer. I do not recommend anything, neither the bde tourism company nor the tour t They must remember that customers are important and that is what is paid for in order to experience the greatest satisfaction of the journey.

Trash - None… spent lots of time in the vehicle. Would no recommend. The guide was great. The wait between the bio bay kayak was way too long.
